Chapter 35

You woke up nice and early in the cold and somewhat happy village even though threats like lycans happened here and there and it happened in the year 1999.

Children were outside a lot and you joined them playing in cemeteries, helping with farming, and telling stories. The Lords of the village to you were like monsters to most children and yourself included but the only Lord who was considered a child's dream, was Dimitrescu.

She was said to be a guardian towards children and they say if a child loses their parents and has nowhere to go, Dimitrescu would come in and let him or her get a home in her castle. She also gave children good fortune, and happy lives through the toughest of times.

Children sang a song about her that goes,

"A ten foot frame, a hat covers her face. When she calls your name, she is your saving grace. When she sees your tears, she feasts on your fears."

You had a love for her and hoped you could meet her one day. You left notes near her door and hoped she would see them at the castle stone gates in the village. You also made Dimitrescu your main interest and made things involving her.

She comes out into the village every Thursday afternoon and your parents pull you back into the house for "saftey" but... isn't she supposed to be safe for children?

You and the other children knew she drank human blood and you seen her from the windows and adore seeing her. You did see her take out a pack of wolves in the village and all the adults were scared but you were amazed seeing how protective she was towards you and the other children.

She was a true heroines to you and the other children.

On your sixth birthday which landed on a Thursday, your home was starting to become dangerous to live in. Your parents have decided to move away from the village and wanted to suprise you.

You wake up and your mother and father were in the kitchen with a cake set out for you with the Dimitrescu crest iced onto it. You then got the news of the move and it slightly upsetted you since this meant you would never get to see her in person.

You then ran to the church in the afternoon and cried on the benches. You sobbed for a while until you heard the doors open. You hid underneath the benches worrying if the priest came in to work on the church alter.

Then... SHE CAME IN!

You popped out under the bench and felt very excited. She was looking at the alter collecting the blood donations for the villagers which was expected but you did not care. You walked up to her and pulled slightly on her dress.

She then turned around and seen your smiling self. "Well hello little one. What is your name?" Your reaction to her asking this made you excited.

"My name is Andy." You say to her as you make a gesture for a hug. She gladly smiled and giggled and picked you up. "It is nice to finally meet you. Do you support the family of Dimitrescu? I can see you are wearing a necklace with our crest on it." She asks brushing your hair.

"I am a big fan of your family name my lady. I got your crest for my birthday cake today." You tell her happily.

"Oh my, it is your birthday today? How old did you turn today sweetheart?" She asks while leaving the church and you did not notice because you were just TOO excited.

"I turned six today!" You tell her as she put you on her hip.

You then yap on about if she saw your letters, what her family is doing, what her size is and other small questions. You did not notice however what she was doing. She was taking you to the dungeons in her castle.
