"Hell is hot."
———
"Three, actually." Vicky says.
My eyes widen, "Damn! You must have your hands full."
"You have no idea." She laughs lightly, "I love them to death, but being a single mother of three kids is a lot."
I nod, "Yeah, I bet." I take a sip of my Dr. Pepper, "Where are they right now?"
"Carol and Maddison are at my parents house, Joey is with my sister."
"Enough about me," She changed the conversation, "how have you been since your accident?"
I smiled awkwardly, "It's been really difficult." I contemplate telling her more, but after what happened to Katherine, I decide against it.
She nods, "I bet, I couldn't imagine the inner turmoil you've been going through."
She continues, "Has anyone else reached out to you?"
I shook my head, "Only you."
"I'm sorry, girl." She smiled sympathetically.
"It's alright, I'll make it."
She nods, "Speaking of which, I had something I wanted to give you."
Vicky rummages through her large purse before pulling out a book and handing it to me.
The title read, Hawkins High School.
My eyes widen, "Oh, Vicky, I can't take this!"
She shook her head, "Yes, you can! I haven't even opened that thing in years. You would get much better use out of it than me."
I smiled, "You have no idea how much this means to me, thank you so much."
She nods, "It's no problem! I thought it would be nice to have something from your past."
The girl looks down at her watch, "I better get going, I told my mom and dad that I would pick up the girls in thirty minutes."
I smile, "This was great! We should do it again sometime."
We both get out of our chairs, having already paid the bill.
"Totally!" She smiles and hugs me, "Bye, girl!"
"Bye, Vicky!"

I was walking around an outlet mall, trying to find a gift for Eddie.
I walked into a store called Hinson Guitar City.
A guitar sounded like something Eddie would be interested in.
I browsed through their selection for a little, finding a black guitar.
"I think that guitar is a little to edgy for a girl like you."
I look to the side to see a short bald man, "I'm sorry?"
"I said that I think that's too masculine for you."
I furrow my eyebrows and shake my head, "Yeah, I heard you the first time." I take a step forward and look down at him, "What I meant was: what makes you think you can talk to me like that?"
The man, feeling threatened, said, "It was just my honest opinion."
I roll my eyes, "You're short and bald, you don't get to tell me what's to much for me."
I grab the guitar off of the wall, walking over to the register, "I'll take this one."
After paying, I turn around to see the short man with a scowl on his face.
I flip him off and say, "Hell is hot." Before leaving.

I found myself in a department store looking through the clothing aisles
It's about time that's I treat myself. I pick out a light purple sundress and a new pair of shoes. Its not like I needed any of these items, but I sure as hell wanted them.
Looking through the jewellery, I come across a silver ring with a thick band. It was simple, but for some reason it made me think of a certain someone.
"Excuse me," I got the attention of the woman behind the counter, "how much is that band right there?"
She looked at the ring I was referring to, "Oh! That would be seventy five, but with our Christmas sale it would be..." She thought for a moment, "Fifty one."
"Can you ring me up here?"
The woman nodded, "I sure can!"
I placed my other items on the counter.
She picked up the dress, "Oh! This will look great on you, dear."
I smile, "Thanks. It was on sale, I plan on saving it for summer."
The nice lady smiled at me, scanning the dress and the shoes.
She then went to scan the ring, "Christmas present for the husband?"
I shook my head, "It's for a friend."
She smiled again, "Well, I'm sure he'll love it."
I nodded, "I hope so."
She handed me a bag with my shoes and dress in it and a box with the ring.
"Have a great day and Merry Christmas!"
I smile, "You as well."
