"Hold the baby just like that." Sissy says positioning my arms over the sink, holding the baby over the sink. Sissy cups water into her hands and begins to wash the baby making cooing noises to try to calm him. He does stop crying as loud, but the way I'm holding him can't be that comfortable for him. Sissy rinses of her hands then goes through the kitchen drawers finding a bunch of wash clothes and hand towels. She uses a cloth to softly rub off as much blood as she can then moves to the bigger hand towels. "We can use these as a cloth diaper for now. Maybe we'll have some here to change him into, if not we have enough at Brandy."
She's made a thin bed of blankets on the counter then takes the baby from me. While I wash the feel of sticky baby off of my hands Sissy wraps him in a few different towels, tucking and folding until they resemble a very chunky diaper. She picks up the squirming crying baby then shes shoving him into my arms.
"I've never.."
"Just support the head." Sissy says adjusting him in my arms. "I'll go see if there's any baby things in the other rooms."
"Don't go into the bathroom across the hall." I nod towards the room and she gives me a nod. I didn't need her opening the door and seeing Cage tied up in the bathtub. I'd let Micah deal with him. As she moves away I move over to the couch and sit down. Looking down to the baby I don't know what to do, I don't think I've hold such a small baby before. I don't think I've even held a toddler.
Luckily Sissy comes back just after checking the first room, with my hoodie, sheaths and a handful of other things. She lays out a few things on the couch then takes the baby from me. "They did have a few diapers, but the clothes are to small for him."
He struggles as Sissy shows me how to put a diaper on him, but he doesn't cry or scream. Just makes very unsatisfied noises while his face is all crinkled and angry looking. She shows me how to swaddle him in the thin baby blanket, then shows me how to wrap him up in my hoodie. When he's all wrapped up he seems to relax a lot more, but that mad face still in place like he can't figure out if he should continue to cry or not.
Seb walks out just as Sissy hands the baby off to me again. He moves to the sink to wash his hands and I ask. "Hannah?"
Seb shakes his head and I knew it probably wouldn't happen, she had lost to much blood. He does explain though. "She had a condition, it made her bleed out. The only thing that would have saved her is if we had a hospital and a doctor that specialized in delivery."
"I need to go help the others." Sissy says, Seb turns around with a towel in his hands.
"Jack!" He shouts and the baby makes another angry face. When I cuddle him to me Seb gives me a sheepish look. "Sorry."
When Jack comes into the room Seb points to Sissy. "Go help her, she's going to check everyone over for things that need to be addressed right away."
Jack hurry's over to Sissy who's already at the front door. When they leave Seb comes over to me. "There's a man tied up in the tub."
"Micah did that." I tell him a smile curling my lips. "I don't know why he did but its funny."
There's a small smile on Seb's face. "In a slightly twisted way yes."
He reaches down and lightly runs his fingers over the side of the baby's face. "We can use the man in the tub to test your blood."
I grab his hand and he looks to me. I have to ask him. "Are you okay with that?"
