We had a large group, running in a line through the woods. We were lucky the Harley's were loud, they drew zombies to them, slowing them at points and allowing us to catch up. We have to enter the city to continue to follow them, so we follow a few blocks away. No longer able to see them, but able to hear the engines. I had taken my map out again, trying to keep an idea of where we were. The courthouse for the city is marked and I believe they drive passed. They continue on Main Street, we continue until we hit the local college that's extremely small. We hit the corner of the college and I stop, holding out my arms for the others following close behind.
The engines stop and I can just see down the street where a chunk of it has been blocked off with a make shift gate. "I think we might of found it."
"The college is two floors and up hill from them, we could try to get a vantage point." Bjorn suggests.
"The roof, well need to see over the trees." Mato says with a nod. Our group doubles back to the college, taking point I help Mato and Blair clear it. The building, already cleared of zombies. I wasn't to surprised, this building was so close to where they set up base. It just put another thing on my long list of things to do back home. We had never gone around to clear all the surrounding buildings. We needed too.
We manage to get up stairs, and then break the lock onto a stairway that leads up to the roof of the building. Bjorn sets up in the best spot to look over the building the gang is in, I crouch right next to him and pull out the binos. I spot the building they have taken over and I don't understand why they didn't use this college. The college has a ton of space, a flat roof for guards, and a parking lot. Paul's Motel looks to be an okay size with a tiny parking lot in the middle of a U shaped building. It is kind of cute looking, with bright red brick on the first floor, and the half of the building that has a second floor is a white panel, with lots of windows. There's a chain link fence that seems like it was put up recently, topped with barbed wire on most of it. The fence not only includes the motel, there's a small red pizza shop across the street, and a small run down warehouse next to the motel. Any parking spot available has a truck or multiple bikes parked in it.
"Is this it?" I ask Bjorn, he could see farther. "The small warehouse, pizza shop and motel?"
"No." He holds out his gun and I take it, using the long scope on it. I thought the fence ended after that first small ware house, I was wrong. I could see so many people walking in the street, walking past that point. There are two houses in the area, a few trailer homes, and what looks like a massive brick warehouse I can only see the side of from this angle. That warehouse has a large piece of flat land next to it that they had put a bunch of military style trucks, half of them with bullet holes. Its like a trophy area.
There's a ton of people coming in and out of the big ware house, I don't know what's in there, or how many are in there. Its still a lot just there. I move the scope around, trying to get a rough count of gang members I can see, and people without any vests. "There are either a lot of members in the buildings, or they have a ton of scouts out."
"There was a scout group that approached us, then one coming back with the truck. They could have multiple go out at once." Bjorn suggests. I give him back his gun.
"We will have to watch out for any returning." I tell him, getting up from my crouch next to him. "Hopefully they will all be here before we hit them. I don't want to deal with stragglers."
I move over to the group. "We should think about a distraction point being somewhere where the snipers can shoot at from here. We can set up the distraction with mines, let them walk into it and then shoot them from here. You can set up ambushes in the building, maybe even a few traps but we should look for fire extinguishers before we set those up."
