We passed through so many neighborhoods, I hadn't even realized how many houses there were around this area. When we finally get to a more commercial zone, it takes us a long time to find a hardware store. And it's a small one at that. The outside of it had a few things that we would need. Wheelbarrows, bags of garden dirt, and starter plants that are still alive and getting over grown for the little pots.

There's even a little pharmacy next to it.

"This is a great place to bring a bunch of people to. Goodwill, hardware store, pharmacy, and I saw a urgent care at the end of the strip." North says pointing down the line. I see the bright red letters on the front of the tan brick building. We were driving at a rate that the zombie line behind us wouldn't be able to catch up to Tyler's truck. We had made a loop around the parking lot, catching the attention of all the zombies in the lot and possibly in most of the stores.

"Drive out past the gas station onto the main road, slow enough for the zombies to follow and then turn right." I tell him and scan the area as we go to make sure I don't miss anything. We pass a university, a small fire station, a police station, a emergency room, a lumber yard and the list goes on. When we get to a slow bend in the road I look out and point to a side road that's not on my map. "There."

North turns the car without question, and I was tempted to say 'good boy' but for some reason I didn't think it would have the same effect. The area I had him turn on to is just an open field that most of it had already started to become over grown. There's a few side streets that I can see, leading around a Walgreens and what looks like they had plans for this area but hadn't gotten to it just yet.

"Speed up and go over the grass to that road." I point just so he knows and he does as I say. Tyler probably happily, followed our lead and stayed right behind us. "Stop at the end of this road."

I have to open my window so I can lift myself halfway out to look behind us. There was just only so much I could see from inside the car. Really, a sun roof would have been better. This helps though as I sit on the door and look back at the hoard of zombies we had collected. When North stops the car, Tyler moves beside us so I can see even clearer.

When Tyler rolls down his window I speak loud enough for both of them to hear me. "When they get within reach, I want both of us to peel off." I point to the main road that is at the end of this little side road. "We are going to turn left and speed down that road until the right curve. We'll go back to the hardware store and it should be mostly clear now."

As I finish and move back into the car, the hoard had moved within ten to twenty feet from us. Tyler pulls the truck out, taking that as time to go, North follows until we hit the main street, and he reeves the engine. After they stop for just a second, the car leaps forward and I see the truck next to us also start forward. I grab my seat belt and pull it over myself as we gain speed. The last thing we needed was me going out the windshield.

I look over to see a genuine smile on Norths face and he says. "You said speed down the road."

"I'm beginning to think Tyler isn't the only one that likes to race cars." This section of road is long, and mostly empty, so it doesn't stop him. The buildings almost blur as they go by and I grip into the seat belt like it alone will save me. I see the curve coming up. "North."

The curve is fast approaching, and I actually start to worry. Was he going to stop in time?

"North!" This time I can hear the urgency in my own voice, the devilish smile on his face makes my stomach drop.

His hand goes to the emergency brake, he pulls as he turns the wheel, I have to brace myself as the car turns to the side and we skid. I swear to god we were going to skid right off the road into the overgrowth along the side of the road. But we don't. We skid enough to hit the turn, just barley staying on the road. The hand brake is put back down and he straightens the car, only slowing for half a minute before the speed climbs back up. At least he doesn't go as fast as he was.
