The disappearance

(This starts in season 2 but y/n was part of everything that happened in season 1 and is aware of everything also this first chapter doesn't involve Steve but either the next chapter or chapter after that he will be there lol this is about him after all)

I stormed into the police station for the 5th time this week. "Look, the little whiner is back, let me guess, parents still aren't in town?" One of the officers ask. "Yeah it's been a fucking month, why haven't I got any information and why hasn't chief Hopper been informed about it yet?!" I yelled. "Because it's simple, they just went on a vacation." another officer said. "Yeah and how are they gonna do that when their car is still in my driveway? And they would've called or left a note or told my school to tell me, and it's been a month! Why would they be gone that long without notice" I yelled. "Buses exist kid, and month long vacations aren't uncommon especially if they're trying to get away from annoying kids like you" the first officer said. "Hey! What's going on in here." I heard chief Hopper say. "Nothing chief just a paranoid kid, he's on his way out actually." The other officer said,getting up and grabbing my arm starting to drag me out of the station. The chief walked into his room but left the door open,almost as if he was waiting for me to come in. "Let me go!" I yelled elbowing his side and kicking in his knee causing him to let go of my arm. I ran to hoppers room. "What's up kid?" he asks as I slammed the door shut and locked it. "My parents have been missing for an entire month and not one person has done shit about it!" I yelled. "How many times have you reported this?" he asks, sitting straight up and raising an eyebrow. "I can't remember. It's been dozens, this is the 5th time this week I've come in here and everytime they say some snarky comment and drag me out of the station." I said. He stood up. "C'mon kid." he murmurs with a sigh, unlocking the door and swinging it open. He was pissed. Hopper was my uncle. Well not really but he's very close friends with my dad, they're basically like brothers so I've always called him my uncle Hopper. He was a jerk sometimes but it's nice having the chief of police as your uncle. "Go out to my van, I'll be out in a second." he said. I turned to the other officers and flipped them off then walked out. I hopped into the passenger seat and waited. I saw Hopper yelling at them. I chuckled. Hopper walked out and lit a cigarette then hopped in the van. "Sorry they haven't been doing their job, they can be assholes sometimes. I was wondering why I haven't heard from your father lately." Hopper murmurs, driving away. We drove to my house and he hopped out. I followed him and we walked in. "Anything weird been happening?" Hopper asked me as he searched around. "I actually have noticed some weird things but, I think it's just me being paranoid from everything that happened, you know" I said. "What do you mean" he asked, standing upright and looking at me. "I keep hearing things, low growls and screeches, and the lights keep flickering, but when I blink everything stops so I think it's just my imagination" I said. He looked at me for a second. "Yeah probably, Joyce has been pretty on edge too, we're close to the one year mark" he said. "How's Will doing" I asked.  "He's doing ok" hopper said. I knew he couldn't tell me all the details. The lab was strict on their policy but I was aware of everything going on. I knew about his episodes, I've seen them. Joyce has been stopping by and letting me come by while my parents have been gone. Obviously Will and Jonathan come with her and sometimes her new boyfriend Bob comes over. Bob's a cool guy. He's a nerd like me. He's a fun and happy guy to be around. I was knocked out of my thoughts by a sudden chill. It was like cold winter air. I blinked and suddenly, I was somewhere I thought wasn't possible anymore. The upsidedown. "Hopper? Hello?" I said. The windows were broken. There was vines growing. I walked outside. I saw something. A red lightning storm. "Y/n!" I heard hopper yell. I shut my eyes and shook my head then I opened my eyes and everything was back to normal. "Kid are you ok" he asked. "Yeah I'm...I'm fine" I said. "Breath kid, relax" he said. I took a few deep breathes. "That's impossible" I mumbled. "What" he asked. "I saw it,the upsidedown" I said. He stared at me,shocked. "C'mon, we're going somewhere" he said,walking to the van. I hopped in. "Where are we going" I asked. "The byers house" he said.
