The rot

I woke up to loud knocking on the front door. I was on the couch. "This is Chief hopper, is anyone in there" Hopper yelled. "Give me a minute" I yelled. For some reason I didn't have a shirt on now. I just grabbed Steve's jacket and threw it over me. "Y/n who's at the door" Steve said, coming downstairs with Nancy. "Hopper" I said, opening the door. "You alright kid, you're pale" he said almost immediately. "Yeah I'm fine,c'mon I got something you might be interested in" I said, gesturing for Steve and Nancy to follow me. They followed me and I led hopper to the tree. "What the hell" he said. "Hey what's that way" I asked, pointing deeper into the woods.  "Hawkins Lab" nancy said. Hoppers face changed. "Y/n grab your stuff, we're going" hopper said,standing up. "What, I only told flo to call you because of that I wanna stay here" I said. "I said we're going" hopper yelled. "Jeez fine asshole" I mumbled. "What'd you just call me" hopper asked. "I said you're an asshole" I said. "You tell him" Steve said. "Don't encourage it otherwise you're gonna end up like he's about to if he doesn't shut his mouth" hopper said. Steve shut up. We walked inside and I grabbed my things. "See you at tina's party" I said as I left. "See ya" Steve said. I hopped into hoppers van. I leaned my head against the window. "I'm allowed to go to that party on Halloween right" I asked. "Yeah sure kid,however when you get to my house I am going to set a few rules and you'll understand why when you get there but first we're going to the lab I wanna check on something real quick" he said. "Do I have to come with" I asked. "Yes you do because you're the one who saw it, we're not gonna tell them anything because it could've just been rot but I've never seen it like that" he said as we pulled into the lab. We walked inside and hopper said he was here to talk to the doc. Before we could get an answer from the receptionist the doc appeared. "Jim Hopper, isn't this a lovely surprise, and who is this one you've got with you" he asked, looking at me. "This is y/n He's my friends kid, his parents went missing so he's stuck with me now" Hopper said. "Pleasure to meet you young man" The doc said, reaching out his hand for me to shake. I causiously shook it. "So what can I do for you" The doc asked. "Can I see it real quick, just so I can have some peace of mind" Hopper said. "Of course" the doc said as he led us to an elevator. We stopped at a door and the doctor turned to me. "Are you alright young man you look a little faint" he asked. "I'm fine I promise, can we just see this so I can go home" I said. "You sure, you still look a little pale kid" hopper said. "I'm fine" I said. "Alright c'mon then" the doctor said, opening the door. "Brought a little audience with me,hope you don't mind" The doc said to a man in a hazmat suit. "Not at all sir" the man said. The man stepped into the room where the gate was. He then started to use a flame thrower to make the thing get back. "See everything is fine chief, it's contained" The doctor said. Hopper looked at me. "Alright that's all I need to see doc" Hopper said. "Good to know I can help you, come on now" The doc said, leading us out of the room. He walked us outside. "Do come visit us soon and young man it was a pleasure to meet you" the doctor said. "It was nice meeting you too" I said. I lied. I didn't like him. We walked to hoppers van. I hopped in. "Alright we'll stop by your house real quick so you can grab some things then we'll go to your new home, there's a room set up for you now" hopper said. "Alright" I said. We stopped at my house and I walked inside. I grabbed a few bags of my clothes and grabbed a few other things from my room. When I was walking downstairs I saw a picture, it was of me when I was little. I grabbed it and a few other pictures of my parents and me. Hopper helped me carry my bags out and we stuffed them in the van. "Wait what about my car" I asked. "You have your license?" Hopper asked. "Yeah, I'm 17 why would I not" I said. "Then why do you always walk or skate everywhere" hopper asked. "I like the exercise" I said. "We'll figure that out later,c'mon let's go" he said. I hopped into the van and we drove off.
