Tw: Descriptions of dead bodies/ decomposed bodies yeah have fun hoes

I looked at him, trying to find words to say but not being able to. "It's okay, you can talk to us," Steve said, rubbing my back with his thumb. I saw Will and Jonathan peeking in the doorway. I stood up, walking over to my shoes and putting them back on. "What are you doing?" Hopper asked as I stood up. I gestured for him to follow me as I walked out the door. They all did. I waited by the front door. "Stay here, I'll go check it out," Hopper said to everyone else. They all nodded. "Be safe," Joyce said, hugging me, then hugging Hopper. I nodded. I stepped towards Steve, pressing a light kiss to his cheek before walking out the door. Hopper followed me. "You know, I'd much rather have words, nothing good every comes when someone says follow me," Hopper said as I walked to my car. He followed, opening the passenger seat door. He looked into the seat. "That's not worrying at all," He said, moving the gun and flashlight to the floorboards. I got in the car, as did he. I pulled out of the driveway and drove back to my house.

Once we arrived I reached down and grabbed the gun and flashlight, making sure the safety was off on the gun. "Should I grab mine too?" He asked. "Better safe than sorry," I spoke quietly, shutting the car door. "So you can talk now?" Hopper questioned, cocking his gun. I shrugged. The fact that it was night made it all the more unsettling. I turned on the flashlight and put it in my mouth, climbing over the caution tape at the front door. As I shone the light I saw something that definitely wasn't here earlier. A trail of blood going from the basement to the backdoor, it looked like something was dragged out. "What the hell.." Hopper spoke. "That wasn't there earlier.." I mumbled. "Well that doesn't exactly seem good," Hopper said. I stepped forward, walking quickly towards the basement. "I have a feeling I'm not gonna like what's down there," Hopper said. I took a deep breath before going down the steps, following the trail of dried blood that had appeared, my hands becoming shaky, not exactly wanting to see them again but knowing I wasn't gonna get the words to tell him what's down here.

"Kid if you don't want to do this you don't have to, I can continue on by myself," Hopper said, placing a hand on my shoulder. He's always been incredibly good at reading people, he must've known how scared and unsettled I was. "I..I need to do this, I'm not even sure if it was real or if I'm going crazy, honestly I really hope it's the latter but I have a feeling it's not," I said. I noticed that the blood trail continued straightforward, to a small window at the top of the basement. "That's not ominous at all," Hopper spoke. I turned the corner, looking towards the laundry room. The door was still slightly open from earlier, however they were tucked behind the door so I couldn't see them. I slowly stepped forward and into the laundry room taking a quick peek. They were still there, they were definitely still there and they were definitely real. I quickly turned my head away. Hopper walked over, wrapping an arm around me and tucking my head into his chest in a way that covered my eyes. "Oh my god.." he spoke.

I don't know why it didn't do it earlier but it really just hit me. My parents were gone, long gone. And no matter how much I wish it wasn't true or how much I tell myself they'll come back they, they were gone. I hugged Hopper and broke into sobs. "It's okay kid, it'll be okay, come on let's get out of here, I'll alert the station." He spoke softly, taking his jacket off and setting it on my shoulders. I nodded, stepping back slightly and wiping my eyes. He lead me out, making sure that my eyes were covered so I wouldn't see them again. We walked back up the steps but when we did I got a bad feeling. I looked out the back door. I shook the feeling, not wanting my curiosity to lead me to another horrid thing, and just followed Hopper out the door. He lead us back to the car, this time he was driving and I was in the passenger seat. We got out of there, and drove back in silence except for my quiet sobs.

We pulled back in, Hopper got out but I took a second, just needing a second before I get pestered by everyone. "C'mon kiddo," Hopper said, opening my door and extending his hand out to me. I grabbed it and stepped out. He hugged me tightly before shutting the car door behind me and walking up the steps with me. He slowly opened the door, patting my shoulder gently. I rubbed my eyes, making sure that there was no more tears but I'm sure that there was definitely tear stains. Joyce and Steve were sitting on the couch and instantly jumped up. Hopper stopped them from getting too close to me, instead taking them into the kitchen. I already knew what he was going to tell them and I knew that he told them when I heard Joyce gasp and saw Steve's jaw drop. I took of my shoes and left them by the door before making my way to my room. I left my door open and laid down on my bed. I heard the phone ring and someone coming down the hall. I sighed. "Hey.." Steve said, peering in my doorway. I looked up at him, I know I probably looked incredibly tired. Steve shut the door and sat next to me in the bed.

He gently caressed my thigh. "I..I'm so sorry.." Steve mumbled. I sat up slowly, draping my arms around his neck and pulling him down. "I just want to sleep and forget all about today.." I mumbled. "Alright.." Steve said softly, wrapping his arms around me. "Goodnight y/n," Steve whispered softly, running his hands through my hair. "Night.." I mumbled, nuzzling closer to him. I closed my eyes and let my body drift off to sleep.
