My best friend Steve(Steve Harrington x Male! Reader)

Ahoy!

Its summer time now, there's a new mall. Steve and me both work at the mall but we work in different stores. He works at scoops ahoy and I work at some clothes store across from scoops. I go and visit him on my breaks and days off.

I walked into scoops after I had closed up shop, my store closes earlier than most at the mall. "Well hello, here to see dingus again?" Robin asked me. She was Steve's coworker. "Mhm, as always" I said. The kids, which was Mike, Will, Lucas and Max because Dustin was at summer camp and Hopper still doesn't let El out much, ran in and pushed past me. They kept ringing the little bell on the counter. "Hey dingus, your children are here." Robin said as I scooted to the side. Steve opened the sliding window behind the counter. "Really? Again?" He asked, clearly frustrated. Mike rang the little bell one more time. He took the kids into the back and out the back entrance. He came back and walked behind the counter while robin went into the back. "So the usual, lovely?" Steve asked me. "Yup, you know me." I said. As he was getting my ice cream, the power went out. I looked at Steve. He set my ice cream down and robin came out. Steve kept flipping the light switch. "It's obviously not working dingus." Robin said to him.

I had a bad feeling. My breathing got faster and heavier as I became more terrified that what I hated the most had come back. The power came back on. "See it worked!" Steve exclaimed. He went back to fixing my ice cream but noticed I had become unsettled. "Hey it's okay." Steve said. I just looked at him as I tried to steady my breathing. "Hey Robin, can you watch for customers for me real quick?" Steve asked, not averting his gaze from me, his brows furrowing. He led me behind the counter and gave me my ice cream then led me into the back room. "What's going on?" He asked, I could hear the worry in his tone. "I'm scared, what if it's back? What if that's why the power went out?" I said, on the verge of tears. "Hey hey no no it's not gonna come back, El stopped it okay? Everything is fine, it might've just been a quick outage, and the lights weren't flickering or anything like they usually would." He said, hugging me tight. "Hey dingus hurry up in here, my shift is over in two minutes and I intend on leaving on time tonight." Robin said, poking her head through the sliding window. She saw me. "Nevermind take as long as you need." She said, her tone softer as she gently slid the window closed. "I just have a bad feeling, it's probably just paranoia." I murmur, trying to convince myself as I pull away from the hug. We walked back out and I sat down at one of the tables. "We close up shop in a few minutes then I'll clean up and drive you home." Steve said to me. "Okay." I said, eating my Ice cream before it could melt.

I couldn't shake that bad feeling. I knew something must be wrong but I didn't say anything else to Steve. He closed up scoops and we walked outside to his car. I sat in the passenger seat and he got in the driver's seat. I was silent the whole drive home. Steve placed a hand on my thigh, gently rubbing it with his thumb as he drove. "Baby what's going on, you can talk to me" Steve said as we pulled up to the byers house. "It's nothing I'm probably just paranoid or something" I said, taking off my seatbelt and opening my door,stepping out. Steve followed me as I walked inside. Joyce and Jonathan were at work and Will was at the mall watching a movie so its just me and Steve. Steve was still in his stupid sailor outfit he had to wear for work. We went back to my room.

He picks me up to take me to work and he changes here so his clothes were in my room. We both got changed,neither of us bothering to leave the room. It didn't matter we were both dudes and we were dating so it doesn't matter to us. We both only put on our pants and boxers, we didn't bother putting on our shirts. "You staying the night tonight?" I asked Steve. "Yeah, you seem a little scared so I wanna make sure you're okay, I have an early shift tomorrow though" Steve said,laying on my bed. I laid down next to him and he cuddled me. "Mmmm I love you" I said. "I love you too" he said, giving me a small kiss on the cheek. "Y/n! We're home!" I heard jonathan yell. "Shit I was supposed to cook dinner!" I said to Steve, sitting up. I quickly put a shirt on and ran out of the room. I heard Steve chuckle. "Sorry I forgot to make dinner!" I said, rushing into the kitchen. "It's fine honey, I went ahead and bought take out" Joyce said, giving me a small wink. Steve walked into the kitchen, still with no shirt on. "Steve no one wants to see that while we eat" I said jokingly. "Mhm sure, that doesn't make sense because last night you-" he started before I quickly slapped a hand over his mouth. "We don't talk about last night" I said, my cheeks red. Everyone giggled and grabbed their food. I sat in between Will and Steve and we all ate our food. "So how was the movie?" I asked Will. "It was okay, power cut out in the middle though" Will said.

I noticed his tone of voice. He knew something was off. And I knew he knew. "Yeah it was all across the mall actually,power went out in scoops too" Steve said. "Hm probably just blew a breaker or something" Jonathan said. "Yeah takes a lot of electricity to run a place that big so it probably malfunctions easily" Joyce said. I nodded my head as I ate. I knew something was off, and so did Will. But neither of us expressed our concern. We just pretended to agree with what was said. I finished my food and put my plate in the sink then walked back to my room. I laid on my bed and thought for a little bit. Steve walked in and shut and locked the door behind him. I knew what he wanted to do. He got ontop of me and kissed me. I kissed back. His hands trailed down my sides as he kissed me passionately. He broke the kiss and pressed his lips against my neck. He kissed all over my neck, sometimes purposely leaving marks on me. I stopped him before he could start on my chest. "Not tonight love" I said, gently kissing him. "Alright" he said against my lips before moving to my side. He laid next to me and cuddled with me. I buried my face into his chest. I fell asleep after a little bit of him playing with my hair and gently speaking affectionate words into my ears.
