The Tunnels

I walked in and the entire place was covered with drawings of the tunnels I saw. They branched out and had lots of twists and turns. Steve watched as I looked around. I heard Mike say something about Bob while hopper was angrily talking to someone on the phone.

I walked over to Mike. "Was Bob with you guys in the lab?" I asked, sitting down on a couch by the table. He looked nervous to tell me something but he nodded his head. Bob wasn't here with us. I put the pieces together myself. "Died trying to be a hero, guess that's what he ended up being huh" I said, fighting back the tears. "Yeah..bob Newby, superhero" Mike said, a light chuckle and an uncomfortable smile. Steve walked over to me. He sat next to me and hugged me. I hugged him back very tightly and cried. "It's okay" he repeated softly while rubbing my back with his thumb. I eventually pulled away from the hug and he wiped away my remaining tears. Mike said something to the kids, about Bob starting the Amv club or whatever.

I looked at Will. He was pale, he was wearing a hospital gown, passed out on the other couch. "What's going on with Will?" I asked Mike. He shrugged, "I don't really know, but I do know whatever it is, it's taken control of him." Mike said. "The shadow monster?" I asked, knowing there's got to be some sort of correlation. "How do you know about that" Mike asked me. "Will told me" I said. "It's connected to Will and Will can see these tunnels that are underneath hawkins, that's what all these drawings are and that's how everything travels, but if Will knows where he is then so does the mind flayer, which makes Will a spy for the mind flayer." Mike said. I looked around at the tunnels again, standing up and walking around the house. "We have to kill it!" Mike said. "But we don't know how" Hopper said. "Will does, if anyone here knows how to kill it it's Will." Mike said. "But if he wakes up then he'll send demodogs after us because he knows where he is." I said. "He can't spy if he doesn't know where he is." Mike said.

We all went around the house, finding things that hopper asked us too. We made the inside of the shed completely unrecognizable so Will wouldn't know where he was. Mike, Jonathan, Joyce and Hopper were in the shed and the rest of us were inside. Me and Steve were sitting in the hallway, sitting against the wall. "You should go out there." Steve said. "Why?" I asked. "Because you know the kid, you could help them." Steve spoke quietly. "I'm sure they can handle it, they probably don't need me in there." I said. Steve nodded and we sat in silence. It was like that for a few minutes before Hopper came running in the door. He rushed to the table and quickly wrote something down on a piece of paper. I got up and went over to him. "He's using morse code to talk." Hopper said to me. "You know how to translate morse code right?" He asked me. "Yeah." I say with a nod.

He took a walkie talkie and I grabbed one, everyone sat around the table as I deciphered the different beeps. Once we were done it said 'closegate'. Suddenly the phone started ringing. Dustin quickly shut it off but it rang again. Nancy grabbed the phone and pulled it off the wall then tossed it on the ground. "He won't know where it is, it's just a phone right, it could be anywhere." Nancy said. "He definitely knows" I said as the lights started flickering. Steve grabbed his bat and Hopper and the rest of them came running inside. Will was unconscious again. Hopper looked on the table and saw the message. We all heard growling outside. Hopper grabbed a gun and loaded it. Hopper gave nancy a gun and Steve was holding his bat. I was behind Steve, I didn't grab anything. The growling and other sounds moved around. It stopped suddenly, the growling becoming a small screech of pain. Then a demodog came flying into the window. "What the fuck." I mumbled. Hopper walked over to it slowly and kicked it. "Its dead." he said. Then we heard shuffling on the porch again. We all looked at the door and watched as it unlocked itself.

For some reason instead of feeling scared I had a sense of relief. Steve noticed my relief but still kept his bat up. The door opened and in walked El. The girl with powers, she had apparently been taken by the demogorgon from what Mike said. But she was back,and she looked bitchin'. "Where have you been?" Hopper murmured, putting his gun down and hugging her. "Where have you been?" she responded. I realized what was going on, Hopper must've had her and kept her safe, that's probably why he was gonna have those rules set in place had I moved in with him. I smiled a little. She ran to hug Mike. She moved around giving everyone hugs. She hugged me. "I have missed you." She said. "I missed you too kid." I said, patting her head. "Where did you get that outfit you look cool" I said. "Bitchin'" she said. "Yeah bitchin." I said. Mike was upset and yelled at hopper, hopper dragged him into the other room. El hugged Joyce and joyce took her to see Will.
