A few weeks after my Coronation, Maxia came to visit. Dravo and Meadra were with her. She was marked but looked like a Zombie.
"Max? What happened?" I asked her softly as I went to hug her. Max just looked at me with a broken smile.
"We were getting along and we accepted the bond, but last week," She said, trying to control her emotions and not cry. "Last week, he told me that there- that there is no way he could be mated to a fil- filthy d- do- dog!"
She broke down and the dam had opened. Her broken heart, shattered and torn apart. I looked at Dravo and Meadra for any clue. Maxia was a strong and beautiful wolf, who worked hard and put others before herself.
I hollered to one of my guards to take her to a guest room and stormed into my office. I went through my mates contacts and found the blood suckers number. My mates tried to talk to me but I was too pissed off to acknowledge them at that moment. My wolf and I were fuming as I dialed that stupid blood sucker.
"Onyx? Pyrite? I can't talk right now. My mate went missing and I have to stop everything to find the she-wolf." The pathetic blood sucker said into the phone.
"Oh, this is their mate, Sapphire. Friend to your mate, Maxia, who has been a fucking wreak because her fucking mate called her a FUCKING DOG! You disrespected your mate! You think that I will let you anywhere near her you FUCKING COWARD?!" I snapped through the phone as my wolf started to surface.
"You will send my mate home to me!" He yelled back at me.
"The fuck I will you degrading blood sucker! You don't deserve her! You had a wonderful mate who would do anything for those around her! YOU threw her away!" I roared into the receiver on the phone.
"I will declare war if my mate is not back in two days!" He replied back.
"Do it! I will stake you through your fucking black heart! You broke her heart!" I yelled back and slammed the phone back into its cradle.
"Sapphire? What happened?" Py asked as they both came over to hold me.
I leaned into them and told them everything that I knew. What her mate called her and how he basically rejected her but with different words. By the time I was done explaining the phone started to ring. Onyx grabbed it before I could.
"King Visux, what our mate said is true. We will not send your mate to you. Your mate is welcomed in our kingdom and will not be thrown out. If you wish to speak to her then you can come here and do so. I request that you bring no more than three others with you, for safety reasons." Ox told him and then listened and rolled his eyes. "I understand, but you told your own mate that there was no way you could be mated to a filthy dog. Do you want forgiveness? Then you better man the fuck up and do it. We have the future Vampire Queen in a guest room crying her eyes out because her mate can't move with the times. Call back when you grow up!"
Ox placed the phone back into its cradle and smirked at me. Py grabbed my hand as we all stood up and headed to see my friend.
"Max?" I asked as I knocked on her door.
"Co- come in," was her broken reply.
We entered the room and I rushed to Max who was laying broken hearted on the bed. I just held her until she calmed down.
"Max, I called him," I said to her softly and she tensed.
"What did he say?" She asked tentatively.
"Well, he said that we should send you back and I told him I wouldn't."
"I think she said, 'The fuck I will you degrading blood sucker!'" Py stated as he and Onyx laughed, causing Max to laugh and me to try and look innocent.
"Well, you didn't need to repeat that! I was just giving her the shortened version," I said with a pout.
"Thank you, Sapphire. I know we weren't really friends when we lived in the pack but I hope we can be friends now," Max said as she hugged me. I stroked her hair and my mates left us. Meadra came in a little while ago and we decided to watch TV and sent one of our guards to get us dinner with a note to my mates and Dravo that we were having a girls night with Max.
It was a little after midnight when we woke up to screaming and things breaking. We jumped up from the bed and ran to the door.
"My Queen, it's best if you and your friends stay in the room," my guard, Mark said.
"Remove yourself from my way, now! I will go down and you will not stop us. Do you understand?" I snap as I push my way through, as Meadra and Max follow me down to the entrance of my home.
"You will not keep my mate from me!" A voice yelled as we ran down the stairs.
"We're not keeping her from you Visux, but I did tell you that our mate and the High Priestess were in her room. If you would calm down and see reason, you could've waited until morning to talk to her." My mate, Pyrite, replied to him as we came down the stairs.
"Instead of letting us sleep, you come into my home acting like a five year old, whose favorite toy has been stolen." I say when I reach the bottom of the stairs with Meadra beside me and Max behind us, tensed to run back up the stairs.
"Maxia! Come to me, NOW!" He yelled at her. I growled at him.
"Your mate is not a fucking dog! You will respect my fucking friend before I knock some sence into your skull!" I snapped at him. This asshole thought that it was okay to hurt my friend and disrespect us in my home? I don't fucking think so.
"You will give me my mate! Maxia is MINE!"
"You are the only one keeping her away, Visux." Onyx said to him and then looked in our direction. "Max? Do you wish to speak to your mate?"
"No." Was all she said from behind us.
"Maxia?" Visux whispered towards her.
"I want nothing to do with you, King Visux. You marked and then all but rejected me. Meadra has agreed to remove our mating marks and bond in the morning. That way you don't have to deal with a mutt as your mate. Goodbye King Visux." Max said and walked back up the stairs, her shoulders shaking as she tried her hardest not to break down in our presence.
"No! Maxia! Don't do this! I'm sorry!" Visux yelled as he tried to get away from the grip that my mates had on his arms.
"King Visux, you have heard her answer. I think it is time for you to leave my home." I said while walking closer to him. "You have no rights here. You have forsaken the Goddess who granted you a wonderful mate. I hope that if you are granted a new mate, you treat her a hundred times better than you treated your soon to be ex-mate."
"I don't want another mate! I want my Maxia!" He hollered.
"You had her, until you broke her." I said as Meadra and I walked back to Max's room and held her for the rest of the night.
