After the appointment Pyrite and I dropped our mate off in our room with Maxia and Meadra. Dravo followed us to the office to meet the real vampire king. The ladies were going to come back down after they freshened up.

Walking into our office, Pyrite held the door open for us and Dravo and I went in. Pyrite closed the door after he entered. The man that calls himself Vandal, Stood around seven foot tall, with long white hair that was tied at the nape of his neck. He had electric blue eyes and a sharp face, which was common in a vampire. His frame was slight, but muscular and he had a scowl on his face.

"I expected to see you sooner than this, Kings, and did you really bring a mutt to see me?" He snapped with outrage.

"This mutt happens to be friends with your true mate!" I snapped back.

"Well, his mate for now. I know Maxia won't have a problem ridding herself of another vampire," Dravo smirked as he leaned against my desk.

"Thank the Goddess for small favors," Vandal said, rolling his eyes.

Knock, knock!

Dravo stood up and went to open the door.

"Don't worry, I can't wait to rid myself of another fucking vampire!" Maxia stated the word vampire like a curse as she came into the room first. Vandal looked shocked, straightening himself to his full height. Mouth twitching as he tried to hold his grin back, his eyes eating every exposed inch of her body. "Meadra needs your blood to sever the bond. I know who the true king is and I hope the Goddess just gives you a vampire as a mate instead of a filthy mutt."

Vandal looked hurt but quickly schooled his features. "Well, until that is dealt with, I suggest we deal with the current problem."

"The current 'problem' is your cousin and uncle, they will need to be dealt with here or in your kingdom. If they were my problem, I'd stake the fuckers in the heart and watch them burn." Our eloquently spoken mate says to the room.

"Remember what she said to him on the phone?" I asked Pyrite. He looked at our mate and started to laugh.

"Oh yeah, what was it again? 'The fuck I will you degrading blood sucker!' Man, still makes me laugh when I think about it," he replied back between laughing and snorting.

"It got a little heated," Sapphire says with a shrug and a smirk of her own. "Bastard had it coming anyway."

I pull Sapphire to me and kiss her softly on the head as I just hold her to me. I look up and see everyone staring at us. Pyrite walks over and grabs one of her hands from my chest and just holds it.

"King Vandal, I need your arm to extract the blood." Meadra said as she walked over to him with a small Athema and a vial for her to put the blood into.

Vandal raised his right arm and she took enough, just for the ritual. She moved back to Maxia and cut her palm and put it into the same vial. Maxia looked up and I saw her glare at Vandal as he looked at her now healed palm, wincing slightly.

"Are you both sure this is what you want?" Meadra asked as Sapphire set her up at her own desk.

Maxia and Vandal look at each other before looking at her. We all stepped back to give her room. Meadra started the ritual, Pyrite and I pulled Sapphire behind us as Vandal and Maxia stared at each other, Dravo stood near his mate in case she needed him. The next thing that happened freaked everyone out as the contents on the table exploded towards Maxia.

Before anyone could move, Vandal was in front of her, holding her to himself as the magic energy burned his back like acid.

"No! Why!" Maxia screamed as she tried to hold onto his tall frame. "Why would you do that?!"

"To protect my mate," he replied with a wince. His voice filled with pain.

"I'm calling Doc!" Sapphire yelled as she reached for the phone on my desk. Dravo had Meadra in his arms and they both had shocked expressions on their faces.

"The Goddess is angry," Meadra told everyone in the room. "She must have a reason for pairing us the way she did."

Maxia held Vandal until the doctor came in with nurses and a stretcher. Max sighed and followed her mate to the medical wing. We all just decided to clean up and head to lunch. I sighed as we walked. Every time we started to figure out things, they blew up. Literally. At lunch with everyone, Maxia came back with a small smile on her face and sat and ate with us. Sapphire and Meadra asked her questions as Dravo, Pyrite, and I talked about Palin and Nexis taking over the Ferrell Den.

"So how did you decide to put Nexis and Palin as the new Den Leaders?" Dravo asked, taking a small bite of his potato salad.

"Honestly, Sapphire made the choice. We were both stumped on who to choose and now we have a new ordinance for Den Leaders. They must be mated, and only to their true mate, to stay as leader or to take the leader position. If for any reason they don't follow the ordinance, they will be removed until they do," Pyrite told him. I nodded my head.

"I think that's a great idea. It puts stability in the pack, well, den in your kingdom, and unity," Dravo said after finishing his plate of food.

"That's the truth," I replied as I finished my lunch. When everyone was done, we all decided to get some work done.

When Pyrite and I walked into our office the phone started to ring.

"Hello?" I answered, putting the phone to my ear.

"My King! We have a problem!" I hear Palin yell into the phone.

"Palin? What's wrong?" I ask, sitting up suddenly.

"Nexis has found a rebel group! They are wolves, vampires, and witches. Hell there might even be more supes that we don't know about!" Palin said as he started to freak out. I could hear mumbling in the background.

"Any idea what they are after?" I asked, motioning my brother to join the call.

"None. We have been watching them but they haven't done anything except talk about how they don't want their kingdoms tainted by impure blood. They stay in their own sections and they each have a leader representing them. The leaders meet a few times a week but other than that, we have no idea what their plans are," Nexis told us. We could hear the irritation and worry in his voice.

"We will send a warrior squad to assist you and help you train the Den members. If there are any females that are not pregnant or who do not have children, I want them trained as well. Your Queen would have our heads if she found out we excluded females who are able to help their kingdom," I state tursely.

"I understand, My Kings- Palin! Hold on, I-" I heard a little struggle and a thump.

"How's My Queen?!" Palin demanded through his end of the phone. Pyrite and I started to laugh.

"She's doing good, tired a lot but that's to be expected," my brother said cryptically with a smirk on his face.

"What? What do you mean?" Palin asked. Confusion evident in his voice.

"Well, the Queen is eating for six now," I chuckled into my phone.

"WHAT?!" Palin screeches into the phone.

"Your Queen is pregnant, and Dravo, her old pack buddy, recorded us fainting at the news," Py said and mumbled the last part.

"Oh my Goddess! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you all!" Palin squealed into the phone, making us wince at the high pitch.

"Thanks," Pyrite and I chuckled. "Keep us updated on the rebel group and we will have help there in a day or two."

We ended the call and set out to find the right squad for the job.
