OMEGA

IT FELT weird for Cameron to be walking in the hospital again, though this time she wasn't a patient. Instead she was here for Lydia. Apparently she hadn't healed like Cameron did, making Scott and Stiles think that her body didn't accept the bite.

Cameron wasn't so sure.

The blond herself had been having lucid nightmares of the Hale house fire ever since that first night in the hospital. Sometimes it would just be nightmares about fire. She would be surrounded by flames and then as she was about to be engulfed she would wake up.

She hadn't told anyone about her nightmares, but she could tell Luke and Stiles knew something was up. They noticed how she barely slept anymore and how she avoided talking about what happened the night of the formal at all costs.

But here she was, standing in the place where her nightmares began. All because of her friend that she couldn't save in time.

"Do you want me to go in with you?" Stiles asked, knocking Cameron from her thoughts.

Cameron gave him a small forced smile. "Uh, no. You can wait here. I'll just be a second."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah," Cameron said. "Sit. I'll be fine."

"Okay." Stiles kissed her temple. "Good luck."

Cameron smiled at him quickly before making her way towards Lydia's room. She fiddled with the teddy bear she got from the hospital's gift shop on her way, suddenly unsure if this was the right thing to do. As she reached the door she knocked hesitantly. When it opened she was faced with Lydia's father, his face stern as ever.

"Hi, Mr. Martin." Cameron smiled nervously.

"Cameron," he greeted. "Lydia was just about to take a shower."

"Oh, right. Well, I just wanted to drop this off." Cameron held up the bear.

"That's... thoughtful." Mr. Martin took the bear from Cameron. "I'll let her know you stopped by."

"Okay," Cameron said, but before she even got the word out, the door was shut in her face. "Nice to see you too."

Cameron was about to turn back down the hall when she stopped in her tracks as the smell of smoke entered her nostrils. Her head turned to look towards the end of the hall, seeing smoke seeping under a doorway labeled STAIRWAY.

She took a hesitant step towards the door, opening it when she reached it. The smoke seemed to disappear down the stairs as she followed it. Walking down the steps, the small stairwell seemed to grow hotter.

"Hello?" she called out. "Is anyone there?"

Her feet faltered as she reached the bottom floor, taking in the flames blocking the exit. She turned to go back upstairs, but there was now flames blocking that way too.

Cameron pushed herself into the corner furthest away from the flames that grew closer and closer. She curled herself into a ball on the floor, hugging her knees close to her chest. She hadn't even realized she began crying until she felt the tears stream down her face.

"Please," she cried. "Please go away."

She buried her head into her knees, willing the flames to just leave her alone.

"Cameron?" a distant voice echoed, growing closer as it continued to call her name.

"Just make it stop," Cameron whimpered.

Footsteps rushed down the stairs, not stopping until someone crouched down in front of her.

"Hey," Stiles said softly. "Hey, what happened?"
