NIGHT SCHOOL
THE TRIO rushed inside the doors, hastily pulling them closed behind them. They crouched down to avoid being seen through the rectangular windows. Both boys held the double doors tightly, as if that was going to save them from an alpha werewolf.
"Lock it, lock it!" Scott shouted.
"Do I look like I have a key?" Stiles asked rhetorically.
"Grab something!" Scott suggested.
"What would we grab?" Cameron asked, sinking further into the floor.
"Anything!" Scott shouted.
Stiles looked like he had an idea. He stood up and looked out the window. On the pavement by the bottom of the stairs were the bolt cutters Stiles had brought. Cameron and Scott had joined him in looking out the window. Immediately Cameron turned to her boyfriend.
"No," she said.
"Yes," Stiles said.
"Stiles, no, don't," Cameron begged, grabbing at his jacket, but he was already opening the door.
Cameron and Scott watched fearfully from the window. Right as Stiles picked up the bolt cutters, the alpha appeared from behind the jeep. Scott and Cameron immediately began banging on the doors, calling his name to alert him of the danger. Stiles looked at them and then up to where the alpha began charging toward him, his eyes widening.
Stiles sprinted back up the stairs and quickly squeezed through the door. He set the bolt cutters between both doors, blocking anyone from getting in.
The three teens, all panting from the adrenaline rush, looked through the windows once more. The alpha was gone again.
"Where is it?" Scott asked nervously. "Where'd it go?"
They looked for a few seconds longer, still not spotting the alpha. They backed away from the window but still kept an eye on it just in case.
"That won't hold, will it?" Scott asked, referring to the bolt cutters jamming the doors.
"Probably not," Stiles said.
They turned to look down the dark school hallway. They wondered if perhaps they were better off running into the school and hiding. When they heard a howl from outside they decided that they were a hundred percent better off hiding.
They ran through the hall, ducking into an open classroom. Cameron, being the last one to enter, closed and locked the door. She moved quickly to go help the boys push the teacher's desk against the door.
"Stop, stop," Stiles said. Cameron and Scott looked up at him from the other side of the desk. "The door's not gonna keep it out."
"We know," Cameron said. "That's why we're moving the desk."
Stiles rolled his eyes at her before looking at Scott. "I hate your boss."
"What?" Scott asked breathily.
"Deaton, the alpha? Your boss," Stiles said.
"No," Scott protested.
"Yes, murdering psycho werewolf," Stiles hissed.
"He can't be," Scott denied.
"Oh, come on," Stiles said. "He disappears, and that thing shows up ten seconds later to toss Derek twenty feet through the air? That's not convenient timing?"
"It's not him."
"I don't know, Scott," Cameron said. "All the clues point to him. He killed Derek."
"No, Derek's not dead," Scott said. "He can't be dead."
