Chapter one

Katherine„Kitty" Benjamin has never liked pilots. They were presuming, annoying and unfaithful. She didn't have to look far for example. Her mother Penny was in love in pilot twice. First Kitty'sfather- he left them for his younger lover. The second was Maverick.This man lived with them for a while and for Kitty's younger sister, Amelia became almost a father. And then he left.Unfortunatelly there were many of naval pilots in the palce where they lived. And when Kitty helped her Mother in bar she's been meeting them all the time.

-Twobeers for you-she said and put two glasses on the counter.

-Thankshoney-said a Man, regular customer, a military engineer and winked toKitty. She smailed in return and looked around. It was typical wednesday evening. Bar was almost full and of course most of customers were in uniforms or military jackets. So she noticed immediately a guy who came into the space. He wore an unbuttoned hawaiian shirt, white tanktop and jeans. He had sunglasses on nosetip too. Man was tall and muscular, she could tell after one look tohis almost bare chest and had the most interesting face she has everseen. His hair was light brown and curly, eyes were dark and he has amusing but charming mustache. But it was his smile that got her attention. It was full of the pure joy of life.

-Katherine stop it–she muttered to herself when observed him joining the group of pilots next to pool table.-He is a soldier, a pilot probably.

-Kitty-she heard her Mother voice and turned back to find Penny Benjamin standing opposite handsom Man. Althought he had new facial wrinkles and in his eyes appeared expression of tiredness, she recognized him right away.

-Hello Maverick-she stopped next to her mother- It has been a while.

-Is that you Kitty?–He smiled at her.–You grew up.

-I'm 23. I'm studying in collage. You've just been away a long time.

„And you broke my Mother heart in the process" she finished in her  thought.

-Kitty, Darling-Her Mother interrupted.-Could you take that-Penny handed her a tray of beer's mugs-to the table namber 10? Thank you in advance.

-You're welcome-Kitty sighed, took someone's order and went to table. She didn't understand why her mother was so nice to Mav. Suddenly she heard sound of a bell hanging over the bar.

-You pay, Mav-said her mother over the loud cries and Kitty smiled. Good job Mom, good job.

Shewalked over and put the order on the table. When she was going to come back she realised that she had to came next to man in hawaiian shirt and his friends.

-Just do not stare at him-muttered to herself

-Hey girl-someone called her. She turned her head. Man who got her attention was leaning against a pool table and stare at her. Hisfriends: four males and one female looked between Kitty and aviatorwho called her. Tall, handsom guy with cocky smile.

-How can I help you?-she asked raising an eyebrow.

-I just wonder when you have a break.-He came closer and twisted a lockof her hair around his finger.-And parhaps you would like to spend it with me? To get to know each other better?

Kitty rolled her eyes. They are all the same.

-No-she repeated and pushed his hand away.

-Oh come on-he grabbed her wrist.-I think you could like it.

-I don't think so. My break is too short to find something so small likeyour brain so i don't belive you have something interesting for me.-She pulled her hand out of his grip and turned around. Heard laughter behind her back as walked back. Kitty stepped behind the barand started collecting empty glasses.
