Morgan's P.O.V:
30 minutes of consolation and quiet words of support left me breathing gently against Alyssa, who still sat with me.
"You know you didn't have to deal with all this, right?" I tell her quietly.
Her hand brushes down my back in reassurance as I sit up slowly to face her.
"It was the least I could do Morgan," she replies, her hand still on my back, "I am, and always will be, happy to do whatever you need— or want." She finishes with a soft smile.
Some part of me thought that perhaps she wasn't just talking about mental support, as the quick glance she threw downward suggested.
I give her a knowing look and she quickly glances around the room, clearing her throat.
The way she rubs at her nape and avoids eye contact makes my stomach flutter with butterflies; her nervousness truly was the peek of attractiveness.
"How..." I begin, "... How are you not in a relationship?" I murmur and she pauses for a few moments.
"I was." She says quietly, finally turning to look at me, "On an off."
I cock my head to the side in question, "Same relationship or multiple?"
She smirks, "Oh, multiple." The smirk dulls as she continues, "But not one of them worked out."
She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear before continuing, "It was an interesting time for sure." She chews on her lip.
"Seems you couldn't be held down then, hm?" I tease and she simply stares at me, the blur in her eyes showing her mind was elsewhere.
"Not by a man, no." She says quietly, her eyes beginning to focus on mine.
My heart skips a beat as I look back at her, scanning her face and trying to read whether she meant what I thought she did.
Her expression was crafted with amusement and an undertone of something I couldn't quite pinpoint.
"I suppose," she says slowly, sensing my confusion, "I'm not entirely sure about some things."
My body turns rigid as the realisation sinks in and my mouth becomes dry.
It was as though her words had drawn all the calmness from me, instead replacing it with a whirlwind of other emotions.
There was nothing I could do but stare with wide eyes and a racing heartbeat as she opened her mouth to speak again, "Do you... do you understand what I mean?"
I nod, swallowing the thickness in my throat long enough to reply, "Yes."
Silence follows and we remain still, unspeaking, and unmoving.
But as I continue to observe her, a strange warmth blossoms through me, soothing my stiff muscles and reining in my thoughts.
I lick my lips and repeat, "Yes. Yes I do."

Ms Deans P.O.V:
Worry overcame me as soon as I spoke those words, confessing something I hadn't told anyone— hadn't so much as planned to tell anyone.
But with her... I'd only known her for months, yet it seemed like far longer.
I didn't fail to notice the way her body reacted to what I said, how she froze and stared.
After a period of time she opens her mouth, her eyes seeming to clear, "Yes. Yes I do."
And just as soon as the anxiety had surfaced, it disappeared in a rush. I release a breath I'd unknowingly been holding and bite my lip.
Blush spreads over her cheeks and I dare to reach forward, to reach for her hand.
She looks down at our intertwined fingers, her hair falling forward.
"What is it like..." I whisper, my lip quivering as I search her eyes, "What is it like to be with a woman?"
