"Will, Will..."

y/n sat up slowly, rubbing her eyes. She poked the boy beside her, Jonathan rolling over. She had been sleeping with him ever since Will disappeared, she no longer liked being in the room they shared.

The boy mumbled something before hearing his mother. At the sound of Will's name he jumped out of bed, rushing towards the voice. y/n followed slowly behind, still groggy from having just woken up.

She reached the entrance to her and Will's room, peeking around Jonathan. Joyce sat on the bottom bunk, a table in front of her filled with lamps and all sorts of lights. She turned to the kids at the door, waving to them.

"Come here! Come here!"

She pulled y/n onto her lap, pulling Jonathan down beside her. "I-It's Will. He's trying to talk to me- through the lights." Jonathan sighed, rolling his eyes. "Mom-" Joyce sucked in a shaky breath. "I know! I know! Just-"

She took another deep breath in, clasping y/n's hand. "W-Will, it's me and your siblings are here." y/n smiled slightly at being referred to as part of the family, Joyce continuing. "Can you show them what you showed me?"

After a moment a light bulb flickered, Joyce pointing at it. "There! You see that!" Jonathan grabbed her hand, shaking his head. "Mo-Mom! It's electricity! It's the same thing that fried the phone!" He argued.

The two began to fight, y/n clasping her hands over her ears. Eventually Jonathan stood and left to make breakfast, y/n removing her hands from her ears. She turned to Joyce, the woman staring blankly at the array of lamps.

"Friends don't lie. I believe you."

Joyce smiled, wrapping her arms around the girl and placing a kiss on her forehead. "Thank you honey." She cried softly, y/n watching the lights. Was it possible Will was really in the upside down?

y/n sat on the couch with Eleven, watching the girl fiddle with the super com. A few moments later Dustin came over, holding up a large toy. "Make this float." He dropped it, y/n making the toy float in the air no problem.

Dustin rolled his eyes, "Not you y/n! Her!" The girl shrunk back slightly, "Sorry." Lucas rolled his eyes, grabbing y/n's hand and dragging her up the steps. "Let's go!" Dustin followed, Mike kneeling in front of Eleven. He whispered something to her before running up the steps after his friends.

They biked to school, all anxious for the day to come to an end so they could look for their missing friend. Once again y/n decided to ditch at lunch, biking over to the high school to visit Steve. He was in the same place as normally except his arm was swung around Nancy Wheeler's shoulders.

y/n frowned, knocking his food off the table. The boy sighed, waving goodbye to his friends and making his way over to the younger girl. "You really need to find a different way to get my attention, that's the fifth lunch you ruined."

y/n hugged the boy, looking up at him with a smile. "Sorry." She gave an insincere apology, smiling even wider. "Lots happen." She released the hug, pulling herself onto the hood of the boy's car.

Steve chuckled, crossing his arms over his chest. "Yeah a lot happened for me too, kid." y/n kicked her feet, looking up at the clear sky. She pulled her jacket tighter, it was one Steve had given her, way too big but kept her warm.
