"That keycard opens the door, but unfortunately the Russian with that keycard also has a massive gun. Whatever's in this room, whatever's in those boxes, they really don't want anyone finding it."

y/n sighed, pressing her cheek to the cold table. The Russians, the bad feeling about Will, Billy and the lifeguard, it all left a really, really bad feeling in her stomach. Something big was gonna go down, she knew it.

This was the worst time for their party to be separated.

"There's gotta be a way in." Robin sighed, Steve twirling his hat around his finger. "Well you know," He leaned forward, y/n sitting up slightly to hear his proposal. "I could just take him out." The girl dropped her head back to the table, letting out a sigh.

Steve looked at her offended, Robin calling his attention again. "Take who out?" He tried to recover his ego. "The Russian guard. What? I sneak up behind him, knock him out, and take his keycard. It's easy."

Dustin rolled his eyes, "We'd have a better chance with y/n's powers." Robin's eyes widened, y/n sitting up. "Dustin!" The curly haired boy immediately realized his mistake. "Shit."

"Wait what?! Powers?!"

The boys began to talk over each other, trying to come up with excuses for the mistake Dustin had made. Robin rolled her eyes, looking over to the counter. "That just might work." She stood, running out the door and grabbing the cash from the tip jar.

"Hey! Half of that's mine!" Steve called after her, the girl turning. "I'm going to find us a way into that room- a safe way! And in the meantime, sling ice cream, behave, and don't get beat up. I'll be back in a jiff!" She turned, running away.

Steve and Dustin turned to y/n, the girl back to laying on the table. Her eyes were drooping, the girl close to falling asleep. Dustin sighed, taking a seat.

"I guess we'll wait."

"It is fascinating what 20 bucks will get you at the county recorder's office." Robin laid down a sheet of paper, "Starcourt mall. The complete blueprints." Dustin smiled at her, more than impressed. "Not bad."

"So this is us, scoops, and this is where we want to get."

y/n tried her best to follow along despite the fact she had woken up no more than five minutes ago. "I mean I don't really see a way in." Steve sat next to y/n, looking over the blueprints. "There's not." Robin tore away a page, revealing more lines that y/n didn't understand.

"If you're talking exclusively about doors." Dustin looked to Robin, his eyes wide. "Air ducts." She smiled, nodding. "Exactly." She ran over to the whiteboard, grabbing a marker. "Turns out this secret room needs air like any old room."

She circled a spot on the paper, "And these air ducts lead all the way..." She drew a line, leading back to scoops ahoy. "Here."

"Flashlight."

y/n handed Steve the flashlight, the boy on the ladder, looking into the air duct. "Thank you." He handed her the screw driver, turning back to the vent. "I don't know, I don't know if you can fit in here. It's super tight."

"I'll fit."

y/n did not have good experiences with tight spaces but the chances that anyone else beside her would be able to crawl into the vent were low. Steve nodded, hopping off the ladder, allowing y/n to start climbing up.
