"Shit! Shit!"
Dustin screamed, basically clinging to y/n. "We're going down!" Robin turned to Steve, grasping onto the wall. "Yeah, no shit Harrington!" Dustin continued screaming, slamming his hands onto the buttons. "Why won't these buttons work?!"
Erica made her way over, trying not to let her fear show. "Press the button!" She screamed. "What do you think I'm doing?!" Dustin yelled in response. y/n clasped her hands over her ears, unable to breathe as their speed continued to increase.
"Press something!"
"Just press the button!"
"Push it!"
The elevator abruptly stopped, everyone falling over, along with the boxes. "My groin. It fell on my groin." Ignoring Steve, y/n slowly sat up, finally able to breathe again. She moved the box sitting on top of her, rubbing the back of her head.
"Dustin! Get this off of me!" The curly haired boy rushed to help his friend, lifting the box on top of him and moving it to the side. "Is everyone okay?" Robin looked around wearily, her back pressed to the wall.
"Yeah I'm great now that I know that Russians can't design elevators!" Steve stood, pushing Dustin aside to get to the button panel. Dustin helped y/n to her feet, the girl looking over to where Steve was pressing buttons.
"I think we've clearly established that those buttons don't work." Robin sighed, Steve ignoring her. "They're buttons! They have to do something!" He threw his hands into the air. "Yeah, if we had a keycard."
"What?"
y/n sighed, everything falling into place. "It's an electronic lock." Robin nodded, "Same as the loading dock door. If we don't have a keycard it won't operate meaning-" Dustin groaned, "We're stuck in here."
"Yeah."
y/n slid back down to the floor, holding her head in her hands. She felt useless. There was no way she had enough power to make the elevator go back up and even if she did they would still be locked inside.
"Just so you nerds are aware, I'm supposed to be spending the night at Tina's and Tina always covers for me." Erica spoke, only furthering y/n's growing headache. "But if I'm not home for Uncle Jack's party tomorrow and my mom finds out you four are responsible, she's gonna hunt you down one by one and slit your throat."
"I don't care about Tina! Or Uncle Jack's party!" Steve had obviously had enough of the little girl's attitude. "Your mom's not gonna be able to find us if we're dead in a Russian elevator!"
"Hey." Everyone turned to Dustin, the boy pointing towards the ceiling. "What if we climbed out?" They all looked up, finding an exit hatch in the roof.
Steve quickly climbed onto a stack of boxes, pulling the vent grate off. He threw it aside and climbed through, Dustin following
"What were you saying about climbing?"
y/n peeked her head through the hole, standing on her tiptoes on top of the box she was on. She looked up, no end in sight to the elevator shaft. "Shit." Dustin and Steve both turned to her, Steve shaking his head.
"No, no, no. Not you too."
