Sara leaned up against the tree as the sun was starting to disappear behind the trees.
Her eyes were glued to her hands as she watched her finger nails turn into claws before her eyes. Sara then started to cry silently as she rested her head on her arms.
McKenzie glanced over at Sara and let out a sigh. She then walked over and sat down next to Sara and she hugged her friend.
McKenzie tried her best to braid Sara's hair using her fingers however her still developing Therizinosaurus claws made it impossible to do so.
Sara glanced over at McKenzie who had given up trying to braid her hair and she hugged her friend tightly.
However that's when the ground shook. "What is that?" Sara asked.
"The T-Rex maybe?" McKenzie asked.
Since the dinosaurs had escaped onto the mainland a year ago it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that Rexy was out here.
Sara and the others looked around trying to see if they could find were the sound was coming from.
However they couldn't see anything.
That was until a pair of glowing amber yellow eyes appeared seventeen feet off the ground.
Sara froze in place after standing up and started to hyperventilate.
Which unknowingly was triggering the mutation to speed up it's process.
That's when a massive Tyrannosaur stepped out of the trees.
It was primarily grey in colour with a yellow underbelly and with white and blue markings.
Unlike Rexy it had a nasal horn similar to a Ceratosaurus.
Running down from the back of it's head all the way to the end of it's tail were white proto-feathers.
Inside it's mouth were teeth that were both from a Tyrannosaurus rex and a Tarbosaurus. "What is that thing?" Caleb asked as he slowly backed away from the massive therapod.
"It's like a Tyrannosaurus and Tarbosaurus crossbreed." Sara mumbled.
"Let's just call it Tarbotyrannus or something." Willson said.
Just then the Tarbotyrannus roared at them and the group started to run.
However the massive carnivore seemed to only be interested in McKenzie and Sara.
The therapod snapped it's jaws at McKenzie however she ducked down under the carnivore's head.
However the Tarbotyrannus then ran head first into a tree full speed that was in front of it.
The Tyrannosaur stumbled around dazed by the impact which allowed McKenzie to get away.
The Tarbotyrannus then roared in anger and continued to chase after her however McKenzie then hid under an overhanging rock.
The carnivore halted in front of the rock and lowered down to look at McKenzie.
Who backed away until her back was touching the rock wall behind her.
The massive carnivore snapped at her trying to reach her however gave up.
"You win. Specimen." A voice spoke as the Tarbotyrannus walked away. "But your friend hasn't."
McKenzie's eyes widened once she realized who it was that was talking.
It was Kista.
But that was when her mutation finally picked up in speed.
