Claire drove into the town early that morning to find something.

She wanted to find out anything about shapeshifters, even if she had to go into the cryptozoology section of books.

She entered the town's book shop and walked down the isles one by one.

Reading the different titles of books.

However she halted when she found a book in the back.

Claire sighed in annoyance as she didn't find anything. However she did find a book on rare genetic mutations.

She flipped through the pages until she found one. "Primal Gene." Claire murmured as she read.

"An incredibly rare mutation of a certain gene that results in extremely erratic behavioural patterns in subject." She continued as she read.

However she just closed the book and walked up to the front desk and payed for it.

When Claire got back to the cabin she sneaked the book into the house without Maisie seeing it.

Claire sat in her and Owen's room and flipped back to the page she was reading.

"This gene has only been documented once in all of human history." Claire said as she read.

She then went to the section that was titled with "side effects".

"This gene has multiple side effects. Including random emotional outbursts, cannibalistic urges, and most uniquely. The ability to transform into a prehistoric beast whenever subject wants." Claire said.

So far this book wasn't helping at all.

However she continued to read.

—1873, London—

"Gentlemen, over time a species will inevitably experiences random variations. We've seen this in a variety of birds." A man in a black and white tuxedo spoke.

"Birds?" Another older man asked.

"Yes." The first man said pulling up a diagram of multiple species. "The species need for survival focuses their characteristics to adapt. Change. It is their primal instinct."

The others in the room chuckled to one another.

"Please gentlemen, all I am trying to say is that under the right circumstances, facing a primeval threat. Gentlemen please, evolution will devolve back to it's primal form and that we will evolve to face it head on." The first man said standing up.

However he noticed the shocked looks on his companions faces. "Gentlemen, is something wrong?" He asked.

"Charles. Behind you." One of them muttered.

Charles turned around and looked at the window.

Only to see a pair of crimson red eyes staring back at him.

He jumped back and after a flash of lightning the pair of eyes disappeared.

Charles turned around to his fellow gentlemen and cleared his throat.

"Now as I was saying." Charles began.

However they were all suddenly distracted by a dripping sound.

"What in the..." Darlington, the lord of the land muttered as then the butlers scream was heard along with a loud thud.

A few moments later all of the men inside the room notice blood dripping down from a crack in the ceiling.

Charles, Darlington, alongside one other man named Giroud walked up the stairs and into the dinning room were they found the butler's body.

He was missing his left arm and right leg.

"By god what did this?" Giroud asked.

Charles knelt down and picked up a tooth that was covered in blood.

It was banana shaped but was barely longer then the palm of Charles' hand.

"Whatever it was had to have been big." Charles said as he showed them the tooth.

The three of them then return to the room they were discussing in.

Were they all sat down.

However just then they all heard heavy foot steps and the creaking of floor boards.

The footsteps sounded to heavy and powerful to be even from the tallest of people.

However just then the footsteps suddenly stopped.

All five men stood in silence and listened for the slightest of sounds.

However just then the footsteps resumed but at a fast pace and then something huge rammed through the double doors.

Sending wood splinters and chunks everywhere.

The beast was 13.6 feet tall, looked to be 36.4 feet long, and was different variations of red in colour.

It had a box like head with a pair of head crests and multiple jagged, uneven teeth sticking out of it's mouth.

It had small spikes on it's neck with some on it's back and tail with short two fingers hands with some long spikes on the bottom of it's forearms.

It was bulky in build and looked to weigh in at four tons.

"What in the lords name is that?!" Another man, named Bertie asked.

"Who cares just grab a weapon." Darlington said as he grabbed a sword with the others grabbing furniture and swords as well.

However the beast used it's long but muscular tail to slam Giroud into the nearby wall.

Were he fell down onto the ground, limp. Killed on impact.

Bertie charged at it with a sword but the beast clamped down on him with it's jaws and just shook him rapidly and then threw the man aside.

Bakely backed away from the beast in fear of what it might do.

However the three remaining men then fled the room with the beast following in pursuit.

Were they then hid inside another room and slammed the doors shut.

Were they also barricaded the doors. They heard the beast stomp away and Charles breathed a sigh of relief.

"I think I can think of a name for that thing." Charles said.

"Oh?" Darlington asked.

"Kasai Rex." Charles said.

"That doesn't sound right." Darlington said.

"Well what do you think it should be called?" Charles asked.

"Apicovenator Rex." Darlington answered.

Just then they heard the chef scream from the kitchen before Charles could say anything.

"Oh no." Bakely muttered as he looked out the window.

Just then the A-Rex lunged through the window at the three men, roaring as it did so.
