Y/N's POV:

I walk to the conference room after dinner and sit on my chair. It's my favourite place to work. No one ever really comes in and disturbs me. I don't mind when they do, but it's easier to get this over and done if I have no distractions. But I have a distraction - Kate. Mega distraction.

I complete my paperwork: surprisingly, no one bothered me. I get up and mail the papers to wherever they need to go. Then I walk to my room and sit on my bed. I'm so tired...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I wake up to my alarm going crazy - I groan and throw my phone to the other side of the room. It worked, and the alarm turned off. Success! I fall back asleep. I then woke again to someone jumping on me, "wake up!"
"Huh? Wanda? What is it?" I groan and put my head back on my pillow.
"Today is the day she comes down to the compound!" Wanda excitedly exclaims.
"Elaborate, please," I plea.
"Monica! She's coming!" Wanda cheers out.
"Oh, yes. Does someone have a little crush on Monica?" I tease her,
"Make that huge! And lately, she admitted she likes me too!"
"Okay, calm. I'm very excited for you, but I just woke up," I groan and Wanda nervously snickers.
"Sorry..." She climbs off me.
"Thank you. Now when will Monica arrive?"
"Any minute now!" Wanda chimed merrily.
"Tell her I'm asleep," I groan and put my pillow over my head.
"Whatever, I'm going to wait for her," Wanda runs to my door.
"Have fun with your girlfriend!" I yell after her.
"Not girlfriend!" Wands shouts then quickly runs off so she can get the last word. Ignorant.
Well, I'm up now, aren't I? Might as well do something. I pull my heavy body up and trudge to the bathroom. I hop in a shower and then get changed into some clothes.
I wonder what Kate will be doing today. Oh, I know! Barton set up a shooting range for her. She's going on a mission tomorrow.
I should surprise her with lunch!
I quickly jump off my bed and swing my door open.
Wait.
What if Monica is already here?
I'm "asleep".
Ugh. Window it is.
I climb out of the window and drop to the ground. I walk to her favourite restaurant.
"oh, my god... You... You're an Avenger!" A little kid exclaims.
I stop for a moment and look at him. "Yep. I am."
"C-can I get a photo with you... Please!" He pleas.
"Of course, you can! Why would I say now?"
"Thank you!" He throws his fists in the air and we take a photo together.
"Now, where is your adult?" I ask him.
"Oh... I lost them. But I have this photo!" He hands me the photo.
I recognise them...
How do I?
Oh, my god!
His parents are Hydra agents. The ones that kidnapped me!
"I'm sorry... I'm a little busy. But someone else will help you find them. I promise," I apologise and quickly continue walking.
Fuck!
That kid is now going to spend a life with Hydra.
I'm horrible.
I arrive at Kate's favourite take-out place and order her usual and something for myself.
"Is that all you want today?" The cashier asks.
"Yes. Thank you very much. Bye, have a good one." I walk away.
I run back home and climb up the wall into my room.
I decide to wait a bit and then give Kate her food since it's still early.
Plus, I still feel shit about that poor, poor kid.
I walk into the kitchen.
"How are you, kid?" Tony asks me. I just ignore him.
Wanda's POV:
Hm. Weird. Why did Y/n ignore Tony?
I have to read her mind.
I use my powers and get into her mind.
*I say I'm okay, but I'm dying inside. You guys wouldn't care enough anyway. I work so hard to do anything, and yet I still feel pathetic. My efforts are all in vain. I've traced with my finger where I'd take the scissors, that's what it took to make me look in the mirror. I've done every diet to make me look better. So why do I still feel so god damn inferior? I wish I could be her everything, but the truth is, I can't. But it's still nice to dream about, I guess.*
Oh.
What happened to her?
I've to help!
"Wanda, did you just read Y/n's mind?" Nat whispers at me.
"Yes."
"What's wrong with her? Maybe I can help?" Natasha offers.
"You can't. She's okay. Only one person matters to her, and she believes they hate her. Which I doubt they do," I sigh.
"Ah. Who-who does she care for?" Nat queries.
"No one you need to know," I smirk at Nat.
Y/N's POV:
Wanda just read my mind. It's clear to tell.
*Don't read my mind, please.*
*Already did. What happened, Y/n?*
*Nothing. You've never noticed before, why bother now?*
I then block her from my mind.
I need to give Kate the food. Ah, Kate.
Fuck, am I developing feelings?
No.
I can't.
Not after...her.
I still can't even think of her name?
Pathetic.
I stand up and walk out of the room. As I walk into Kate's shooting range, I see Kate working very hard. She's all sweaty, wearing just a sports bra and skin-tight shorts.
"Hey, Kate. I've brought you some food. You know, since you've been working so hard," I interrupt her.
"Thank you! Sorry, I don't look my best. I'll shower after this and we can hang out. Just before I go for the mission," Kate turns to face me.
"Okay! Who's going on the mission with you?" I inquire.
"Me, Stark and Banner. I'll be safe. Don't you worry," Kate chuckles at my worries.
"Good, good. Let's eat, shall we?"
