"Hey- I was missing you already." Eddie said

"It's only been 3 periods since lunch"

"I know but I had to come see you again..." Eddie's eyes slowly moved to look at Steve's car

"What's Dustin doing in that car?"

"This is Steve Harrington, one of my bestfriends" I said

Steve waved and Eddie waved back.

"He's driving you home?"

I nodded.

"Oh- but I was going to ask you to meet me-"

"Eddie- I got violent for the first time in a long time today- i think I should take some time to myself before I ruin my reputation at school.."

"Y/n.. you don't- mean.."

"I'm sorry.. I really need time to myself"

"Y/n? What's does that mean?"

I stayed silent getting in Steve's car.

"Wait wait wait. Y/n- you can't just say that and leave."

Steve stared at me as I rolled up the window.

"Drive" I said

"You sure?"

"FUCKING DRIVE!"

Steve started driving immediately.

We were on the road now, radio playing and I stared out the window in silence.

The whole car was silent. That goodbye with Eddie.. whyd it feel permanent? Why was it so.. painful? I shouldn't have worded it that way... I made it seem like I didn't like him. Like he was one at fault for it when it really wasn't.. I was the one at fault.. not him..

I was started to regret the way I left Eddie..

Steve looked over at me.
"You alright?"

"Huh? Yea.."

"What was that about?"

"Nothing- just a little incident that happened at school.."

"Wanna tell me what happened?"

I shook my head

"Cmon, I might be able to help you."

"I rather not right now."

"Later?"

"Maybe"

"Well hey." He held my hand "I'm always here for you, always ready to listen and help you out"

"Appreciate it"

He smiled worriedly. Looking at me for a quick second before looking at the road again.

"I'm fine Steve I promise."

"Okay good." He squeezed my hand before letting it go.

He kept driving and before we could get to our house
Dustin spoke
"Oh- could you drop me off at the wheelers? Mike and Lucas are gonna be there"

I looked at Dustin in the back seat, he smiled
I looked back at Steve who stared at Dustin in the mirror.

"Why didn't you tell me this when u got in the car huh? I would've took a different route."

He turned the car around

"I almost forgot.."

Steve sighed and I stayed silent closing my eyes as I layed my head to the side and fell asleep. _______________ _______________
Steve looked at y/n noticing she had fell asleep.
"Dustin, mind telling me what happened at school today with you guys, I can see it's bothering y/n.."
"She broke some kids nose"
"What?" Steve said
"Someone was calling us freaks and she had enough of it.."
"That's- it?"
"Yep"
"W-why would that upset her" Steve asked
Dustin shrugged "she feels guilty?"
"Did she get in trouble?"
"I don't know.. I don't think so"
"..."
They arrived at the wheelers and Dustin got out the car going inside.
Steve looked at y/n. He didn't want to wake her so he just started driving again.
He drove around waiting for her to wake up. At this rate he realized he was just wasting gas.
