The next day came after a restless night for both Harry and Severus, late night tossing and turning with barely any sleep. The sun refused to shine on a very overcast rainy morning, students arriving new and old.
Harry had been waiting outside of Severus's door, not wanting to wait any longer to see him. He knew he was suppose to meet him later before the sorting ceremony and the welcome feast, but he was impatient.
Severus was getting ready for his morning stroll before heading to the Great Hall for the ceremony, he always took a walk through the Dungeons alone to clear his head for the day.
Harry gasped as the door made a snapping noise, swinging open. He took a step back, shyly smiling.
Severus didn't expect Harry to be on the other side of the door, sighing with his lips pursed. "Mr. Potter, morning." He walked passed him, slowly making his way down the hallway.
Harry followed, closing Severus's door with a confused expression. "Wait, where are you going?" He ran after him.
"I go for walks...in the mornings." Severus explained dryly, continuing to walk.
Harry silently continued.
Severus stopped. "Alone Mr. Potter."
Harry walked infront of Severus. "Feel like having some company?"
Severus glared, grabbing Harry by the ear.
"Ouch! Hey!!!" Harry complained, wincing as he tried to pull out of Severus's tight fingers.
Severus pulled his head up. "Do you not use these ears? Or am I speaking in tongues???" He snapped, pinching tighter. "Go busy yourself elsewhere until 7 Potter!" He let go roughly, sending Harry backwards a bit.
Harry caught himself before he fell, groaning while he rubbed his stinging ear. "Damn!" He hissed to himself, watching Severus walk out of sight. Why must he be so violent?!?! I'm taking that walk with him, he just won't see me!
Harry rushed back to his room, getting dressed in a nice black comfy cloak with a dark green button down the shirt with black slacks. He put on black hightop sneakers to match, deciding a tie would be too much.
He made sure the hallway was clear, pulling the Invisibility cloak over himself.
Severus was taking a slow stroll down the hallways that had the giant gargoyle and creature statues, his hands in his cloak pockets. Harry Potter...why does he even want to be around me? What does he want?
Harry finally caught up with Severus, casting a silencing charm on his own feet as he approached. He frowned when he saw a saddened expression on his face.
Severus was thinking about everything that happened with Harry when he thought he would die from being attacked by Nagini, how he revealed everything...I wanted him to know regardless of death...but how does he feel about me now?
Harry wished he could tell Severus how he was feeling since Saturday, but he felt that if he did...he'd get hit or hexed. I don't know what I feel...I know I want to be near him, to hug him again. His need for touch was ignored for now.
