After a full day of Classes Harry and Severus agreed to eat dinner together with the rest of the teachers, deciding to meet after everyone retired to their dorms and personal rooms. Not one word was exchanged during mealtime, silence was deafening while waiting for the students to safely make their way out of the Great Hall.
Minerva and Horace left together, followed by Hagrid and Pomona leaving to go pick ingredients in her garden before the sun set. Poppy left to tidy up the infirmary before she ended her day, the last group to leave was Filius and Aurora who wanted to have drinks up in the Astronomy Tower.
Sybill and Rolanda chose to eat outside in the courtyard, discussing private matters.
Harry finished his soup, dipping the remainder of his sandwich on the edges of the bowl. "Everyone seems so confident with their schedule every day. I worry I won't fit in well as a teacher." He said to himself out loud.
Severus gathered the dishes before the elves started coming out. "You have a year to worry about that." He muttered, taking a sip of his wine before walking down the isles.
Harry brushed the crumbs off his button down shirt, jumping down from the platform.
Severus didn't bother to look behind him to see if Harry was following, listening for his rushed footsteps.
Harry never noticed how observant Severus was, always paying attention to everything around him. His mind wondered just how clued in he truly was, nervous about what was about to happen.
Severus had agreed to take Harry to his private quarters, not wanting anyone to see or hear them. It was a big step for him to take, but it was necessary to keep his buisness to himself and away from prying eyes.
Harry kept his distance a bit as they walked through the Dungeons, his heart beating faster the closer they got to Severus's door. I'm preparing myself to get horribly lectured...
Severus took in a deep breath as they arrived infront of his stone door, pulling his wand out to tap the door a few times.
Harry saw there were multiple ways to open Severus's door, probably for security purposes. I should do the same for my door...wouldn't want someone getting their hands on my key...he thought as the door opened, disrupting his own thoughts.
Severus pulled the heavy door open, allowing Harry to go inside first. "Don't ask me to come over, the only time you are allowed in is when I invite you is that clear?" He asked sternly, but not in a negative way.
Harry looked at the old stone material of the door as it opened. "Yes I understand." He walked in.
Severus had many wall shelves filled with vintage spell books and encyclopedias all around, artifacts and empty crystal bottles were placed in various areas. It reminded Harry somewhat of the style Dumbledore kept his office.
"This place is so elegant." Harry complimented, stepping in further to see the layout was similar to his. "Do all the rooms have the same shape?"
"The only rooms that are different belong to the Head Mistress and Hagrid's hut." Severus plainly answered.
Harry didn't dare go to the left, knowing that would be the Master bedroom and bathroom. He instead walked into the living room. "You favor Borgin and Burkes I see." He said running his hand over the back of one of his arm chairs, the Gothic black wood furniture was gorgeous and vintage.
