📚Andrew📚
I look around at all the cabins. It's so weird being here with no campers. It's almost eerie. "Woah. Andrew?" I look over and see Dylan looking down at something. I walk over to him with Ryan beside me and my eyes widen when I see the bear trap.
I understand my family wants to catch Silas, but what if Caleb or Kaylee were to step in that. I know that they'd heal thanks to their curse, but still. There's been no sign of Silas for six years. He crouches down and grabs a branch from the ground, inching closer to the trap and lightly tossing the branch.
It triggers the trap causing its steel teeth to snap shut. "Something like that could really take your hand off," Dylan remarks and I nod. "What is this doing at a kid's summer camp?"
"Your guess is as good as mine, Ryan," I lie and give a one sided shrug. "I dunno, but that... it wasn't there over the summer, I mean, if it was then we would've noticed that, right?" He gestures toward it and Ryan glances at him. "Well, whatever it was trying to catch it can't now." We step back from it and continue toward the radio hut.
I move up the steps and freeze when I think I hear something. I turn around and look back where we came from, scanning the area. "What is it?" Ryan asks me and I look around one more time. "Nothing. Just... just thought I heard something." I reluctantly turn back around and follow them toward the hut.
Dylan looks at something that's just below the window. "Huh," he murmurs to himself and I walk over to him. My shoulders tense when I realize what's carved into the wood of the hut. Claw marks. I follow the direction and see they lead to the roof. A werewolf recently climbed up the side.
I look behind us again as Dylan snaps a picture. I don't think we're alone here. "Can we hurry this up, guys?"
"Uh, yeah. Sure." Ryan heads up the steps and opens the door. I quickly follow after Dylan closing it behind us. I move toward the window as the boys move farther in. I look over and see the proud grin on Dylan's face as he looks around the radio hut.
We put a lot of hard work into this place. A lot of fond memories here. I can't help, but smile at the look on his face as he gazes at the fruits of our labor. "Whoa, this place is kind of a dump, huh." I glare in Ryan's direction as a look of annoyance crosses Dylan's face.
"Okay, when Andy and I were campers here it was barley working. It hadn't been used for years and it took us a really long time actually, to get this place cleaned up and looking the way it is."
"Sorry if it's not up to your standards," I remark and Dylan nods. "Yeah, we've been putting in a lot of TLC, okay?" He raises his hands in surrender. "Okay, okay." My boyfriend goes over and slips into the chair. "Let me get this set up."
I watch him work with fondness. "Anything over here we can use?" Ryan asks and gestures to the tools hung up on the wall. "The power tools? No. Um, Mr. H wanted more storage so... it's kinda how he lets me keep the station going."
"Gotcha. So, how far does it go?"
"Oh! Um... well, it was designed just to broadcast to the PAs around the camp for announcements, and to... you know... portable radios and whatever. So, I think the range is about..."
"A mile," I finish his sentence and he nods, gesturing in my direction. "How do you even know all this stuff?"
"I just kinda picked it up." He continues twisting knobs and getting it ready to broadcast. "The tech- technical stuff has always been a little, uh... hard for me to get a handle on."
"Well, I taught Andrew everything I know so if you'd like I could show you the ropes."
"Like a class?"
