Omniscient Point of View
Desire stood at her father's bedside as tears streamed down her face. Her father was her rock. She didn't know how she would survive without him. Everything in her life was falling apart and she felt like she had nobody to turn to. Her mother stood along side her, holding Desire's hand.
Ned stood outside the room looking through the glass. Ned hated to see her friend going through so much. First her husband has all these issues and she needs him more now than ever. Everything was a mess in everyone's life, including Ned's. It was no peace and all the happiness seemed to be gone.
With tubes running in and out of David's body he fought to hold on. He was the lion of the family and he carried all the strength on his back and shoulders.
Sylvia approached and touched Ned's shoulder. Ned looked up and embraced Sylvia. Sylvia pulled back and watched her family going through this storm of life. She knew that right now the situation looked bleak, but she knew that God was on everybody's side. Right now everybody's hearts, mind and spirit was shattered, but she knew that she had to be strong and uplift each and everyone at this time.
She made her way inside David's room. Desire and her daughter turned around and embraced her.
"Listen, Desire and Renee, I know that things seem like they are getting worse before they get better, but hold on and be patient. God is trying to teach us a lesson and teach us the importance of love and family." Sylvia said as she wiped tears from their eyes.
Desire and Renee nodded, but still it was hard to be encouraged and hopeful. Desire's heart was shattered into pieces that she couldn't even begin to try and put back together. All she wanted was her family back and to find peace within her spirit. She needed to talk to God and ask God for guidance in her life, but most importantly her marriage.
After so many failed attempts to contact August she just gave up and stood as best as she could. In spite of her and August problems, she needed her husband right now, but he was so wrapped up in whatever issues he was dealing with that he didn't see or hear anybody else. That in itself broke her heart more.
The only and the best thing to do was pray for her father and pray for August as well as her marriage.
*********
August sat up against the wall looking at pictures of his wife. Tears of hurt, shame and guilt washed over him. He was so lost and broken, but it was like he had lost his way. The pain that he was feeling was his fault, but the ultimate pain was the pain that his beautiful wife was feeling because of him. August needed guidance and he needed peace.
He broke down in heart wrenching sobs because he was a mess mentally and emotionally and he thought back to what Twan said about needing God. August knew that God was the only one that could help him and bring him out of this dark place.
He had turned his phone off and shut everybody out because that was the way he thought was best to deal with everything, but now he realizes he needs his backbone, his Queen Desire. He couldn't do this without her and he needed her.
He looked up to the ceiling and did something he hadn't done in a long time and that was pray.
"God I need you to help me." He wiped tears from his eyes. "I need you to be a positive guide in my life to be a better man to my wife and kids. God I simply need you to heal my wounded and shattered heart." He picked up their wedding picture and traced over Desire's face.
"God bless my mind and bless this family. Heal Desire's broken and shattered heart and give her strength and peace. In Jesus name I pray Amen."
He looked around the room and started to feel a lil better. The presence of God and his brother was there. In that moment he could hear a voice saying, Your wife needs you.
He looked around and reached for his phone. He turned it back on waited for everything to restore itself. As soon as he did he saw that he had five voicemails and a few text messages. All from Desire and one from Ned. He read the text and immediately rose up to get himself together.
August
I had just walked into the hospital and as soon as I did I saw Desire standing in the corridor looking out the window. She had her arms wrapped around herself as she looked out into the sky. I slowly made my way to her.
"Desire."
She turned and looked up at me with tears in her eyes. I pulled her into my arms and held her tightly as she cried into my chest. At that moment our problems didn't matter, but what did was the fact that she needed me to be her rock.
I smoothed her hair down and kissed the top of her head. She clung to me tightly and I did the same to her as I rested my chin atop her head. At that moment nothing needed to be said because the actions spoke for themselves.
I looked up and OG was standing staring at us. She nodded and smiled as she turned back in the direction of her son and daughter.
Shattered hearts soon will be mended hearts......
As I wrote this small chapter I did so with so much emotion. I wanted to show that in spite of your situation their are times that you have to not be self-absorbed and be there for those that need you. You have to pull together in love and faith.
I know that a lot of you are wondering when the happy times are coming when will the sadness and pain end, but it will soon. Everyday his filled with happiness and in a marriage happiness isn't always present. Marriage is hard work and you go through things and situation that make you wanna give up. Not just in marriages but in life period.
What I write I write with a meaning and purpose behind it because there is somebody out there young or old dealing with different things in their. As I writer I like to tell a story in a way that drops knowledge and helps you to connect.
From the bottom of my heart I thank you for supporting me as well as being an encouragement to me.
