August (one month later)
I was at home now, but I really wasn't able to do much. I could walk and talk, but Desire wouldn't let me do a damn thing. My brothers and family had been here and they were showing a nigga mad love. Desire had her hands full with me and two kids. I admired her strength and the unconditional love she had for me. Deep down I knew I didn't deserve her. She had been by my side through the worst of the worst.
"Baby you need anything?" She asked as he came into the room holding Shariah.
"Nah I'm good. Where is lil man at?"
"He is in his room playing with Ty." She said as she walked over to the bed and took a seat.
She placed Shariah in-between us and I pulled at her curly ball. She looked up at me and grinned. I grinned back and Desire watched us closely.
"How you feeling?"
"I'm good. Still sore, but I'm alive. How are you doing?" I looked up at her and she looked tired.
"I'm fine. Just glad that you are doing better. I was so....tears welled in her eyes. "I was so scared that you were going to leave me, leave us. That was the hardest time for me baby."
I picked Shariah up and placed her in my lap. I slid closer to Desire, squeezing her thigh. "Desire I won't sit here and lie and tell you that I didn't want to die because I did. I felt like you deserved better and you would be better off with me."
"August no I wouldn't. I need you. In spite of everything that has happened it doesn't change the fact that I love you and that I never stopped."
"Damn I love you so much Desire."
"And I love you too."
"Desire how long did the doctor say before I could start back knocking down them walls."
"Well you have a doctors appointment in a few days and you will find out then, but baby you don't need to be worried about all that right now." She cooed at Shariah.
She looked up at me and I staled faced her ass. "Desire a nigga need some loving. What the hell you mean don't be worried about that?" I mugged her.
"Just what I said." I grabbed Shariah and headed out.
"Bruh you cold as hell Desire." I yelled after her.
"I love you much babe."
Desire
I headed downstairs to feel my baby and put her down for a nap. I was so happy that things were slowly but surely moving back into the right direction. So much had gone on and didn't think that the outcome was going to be a good one.
I grabbed some applesauce and sat her in my lap feeding her small bites. I looked up when Day and Ty come running down the stairs.
"Mommy we hungry." Day grinned at me Ty did too.
"Well let me get through feeding your sister and I will make you something to eat."
"Okay." They took off around the corner.
I shook my head and smiled down at Shariah. She had the cutest look on her face as I fed her. She looked so much like her father at times that it was scary. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and it was August.
"Babe why aren't you still laying down." I asked as he slowly made his way in the kitchen.
"I was lonely and I wanted something to snack on." He walked towards the fridge.
