"He was a fucking jerk anyways" Harry sighed, entering his bedroom, a bar of chocolate in one hand and a coke can in the other. He walked closer to his perfectly made bed to where Elora was sat, cross legged and crying as she went through her first heartbreak at the age of 19.
Now for most people this was an age where they would've already had their first heartbreak and had possibly moved onto their second or even third partner but for Elora it was her first and as they say, the first is always the worst. Something about being blind in young love. Anyways, the point stands, Elora was heart broken to say the least.
There were many reasons as to why Elora Avani Rai waited "so long" , according to society, to date but the main were that unlike most people in her school she actually cared about her education and wanted to be successful in the future, she simply didn't have time for messing around. Oh, also did I mention she came from a south Asian background where dating was a big no no?
She remembers the way guys were practically obsessed with her during her late teen years. They loved the way her long brown hair flowed with the wind, the way her sweet and luminous brown eyes shimmered in the sun and the way her tan skin glowed all year round. She was beautiful, there was no denying that which meant that hardly anyone could take their eyes off her but with the strict "no dating" rule, she actually obeyed, I know it was a shocker as Elora was not one to obey, it was no use paying those guys any attention and now she had realised why her mum had set that rule. Love was not worth it if it ended like this.
"Not helping" she replied before sobbing into her hands, still unable to process the fact that her boyfriend of a year would cheat on her. The boyfriend she tried so hard to hide from her parents and older brother because she cared for him and didn't want him getting into any shit. The boyfriend she spent nights after nights staying up for because she "loved" him and wanted to make sure he was safe. It was crazy how lovers were the ones to break hearts, the people you least expect it from but nonetheless were actually known for doing such things. Whilst she was having this breakdown of hers she felt the bed dip slightly as Harry sat ontop. He placed the treats infront of her before kissing her brown locks.
"Well, this might help then" he suggested making Elora move away her hands to see her comfort treats infront of her. She quickly grabbed ahold of them, thanking her childhood best friend probably a thousand times as she peeled open the chocolate and took a huge bite but not before offering the man sat next to her.
"I'm sorry for being such a bitch but I've got no one else to cry to. You're my best friend, I find comfort in you. Plus If my mum found out I even had a boyfriend in the first place, she'd kill me. You know how she is. A crazy woman" Elora groaned, taking another bite out of her chocolate and then signalling for Harry to open her coke can.
Harry gets to it but nods as she continues speaking, showing his best friend that he was there for her and listening. "My mum would hate the fact I'm anywhere near a man. You're the only exception because she loves you and has known you since you were a baby" she babbles, taking another bite out of her chocolate.
She seriously needed to stop stress eating, it was no good but Harry also knew it was the only thing that could calm her down so he considered this as a one off.
"I know. I'm a lovable guy so I don't blame her" Harry joked, lightening up the mood before pulling Elora into his embrace. He rubbed soothing circles onto her back as he littered her hair with a trail of soft kisses, helping her to somewhat be eased. Now to others this might look like they're more than friends but to Elora and Harry, this was normal. They were always touchy around eachother, well up until she got herself a boyfriend.
"I'm sorry love. If you want, I can go over to him and smash his face in? He can't just hurt you and get away with it" Harry hums against her, she had her head buried into his chest as she let out a breathless laugh, the last of her tears falling down her cheeks.
