Looking up as I heard the front door slam, I frowned and got off the chair I'd been sitting on to go investigate. Harry wasn't due to be home just yet but he was the only one with a key.

"Harry, is that you babe?" I called out as I headed down the stairs. I could hear movement in the kitchen but there was no reply. Spotting Harry's shoes scattered in the halfway next to his dropped coat and bag, I sighed before heading into the kitchen.

"Harry," I said gently as I walked over to him.

He was standing by the sink, empty water glass by his hand.

"Babe?" I asked again while touched his shoulders gently. "What's the matter?" I asked while turning him around. There still wasn't a reply from Harry, who just kept his head down and looked upset.

"Nothin," Harry whispered after a little while.

I hummed at that. "Then why you slamming doors and leaving a mess, baby?" I looked at him curiously. I could see how hard Harry was thinking but in the end, he just ended up shrugging as he shifted his focus onto a different spot on the floor rather than answering me.

"Well," I started as I leaned forward, pressing a little kiss to Harry's forehead. "Go clean up your mess, please," I instructed.

Harry closed his eyes and did a little nod but didn't move until I stepped away and looked at him expectantly. Harry moved slowly and didn't put much effort into what he was doing but he was doing it. Once he'd hung his coat up on one of the hooks, he took a shaky breath and pressed the palms of his hands against his eyes.

"Oh, baby," I said softly as she walked over and wrapped him up in a tight hug. "Won't you tell me what's wrong?"

Harry hugged me back tightly as he buried his face into my neck. "I don't know," he replied choked up, grasping onto my jumper tightly.

"Come on, let's go sit down," I suggested as I rubbed his back and kept an arm around him as I led him over to the sofa where Harry immediately hugged me tightly again.

"Why you so upset, baby?" I asked as I stroked his hair. Harry's face scrunched up as he whined and let out a little sob.

"I don't know, just wanted to home to you all day. Missed you, mommy," Harry cried.

"Oh, lovely. Mommy's missed you too but we're together now, so we don't have to be sad anymore," I told him softly wiping away some of the tears rolling down his cheeks. I glanced over at the clock on the wall to check the time.

"How about we go upstairs, find your teddy and your blankie and we can have a little nap together? Doesn't that sound nice?" I smiled.

Harry sniffled and gave a little nod as he started getting off me. Taking his hand, I held it tightly as I led him up the stairs. He headed straight for the bed and wrapped himself around his teddy and blankie while I closed the curtains before joining him.

"Love you, mommy," Harry mumbled as he took the corner of his blankie in his mouth and sucked on it gently. "Love you too, baby,"
