Birds chirped as John B and Azariah sat in the sand listening to the waves crashing

John B had his arms wrapped around Azariah as she was sitting in front of him between his legs. They were watching the sunset and enjoying each other's presence

Currently they were discussing their plans for the tomorrow "Well I have tryouts for the end of summer ballet show at like 9am, and then I have an appointment at 11am."

Azariah was usually pretty busy in the summertime but she was going to be super busy with her new job. Yet she kinda liked that, it gave her something to do and she was never bored

Now John B, he didn't really do much except surf, but this year he got a job from the Cameron's to look after their yacht

The boy smiled at the words of the girl in front of him and hugged her tighter "I think you'll get the lead, because you're the best there, plus Scarelett has known you since you were a baby."

Sighing and look back at John B the girl spoke low "Yeah but she plays fair and picks on talent. Not relations."

To be very honest Azariah was quite nervous because she really wanted the lead role and wouldn't be around for another show

Also the role was literally perfect for her. She zoned out for a minute but fell back to earth when she felt cold air around her

John B had let go of her just for a minute so that he could get something from his pocket. It was a small white box shaped like a rectangle and held a piece of jewelry

When the black haired girl saw it she was kinda shocked and confused but didn't show that. Her confusion went away once she opened the box and it turned into excitement

"John Routledge! You did notttt!! Oh my gosh it's so pretty I am absolutely in love with it."

In the box was a gold necklace with a butterfly on it. One thing about Azariah is that she loves butterflies so much and it's like her thing

But he wasn't the only one with a surprise. The girl also pulled out a rectangular box except this one was a black velvet box

She smiled big and handed the box to him "I know it's not the exact one like your dad's but I hope you like it."

Opening the box his eyes immediately lit up and he smiled so big. A few tears of joy welled up in his eyes as he looked at the watch  "Azariah, it's just like his, I love it. Thank you."

They had put their gifts away and John B went back to holding the girl in front of him. Jokes were said but then they stopped and listened to the beautiful nature sounds around them

It was silent between but the two but it was comfortable and peaceful, nothing was forced or awkward

After a few minutes of silence John B randomly said something "Ok but imagine if we just like became friends with the sharks." The brunette boy said out of no where

Laughing Azariah rested her head on the boys shoulder and replied back trying to hold it together " And how would that occur. But we could have them spill gossip about the other sea creatures"

Pausing and looking down at the girl he mischievously smiled before picking up her legs and carrying her to water

"What are you doing! Routledge put me down now!" The Barlowe girl flailed her arms around and playfully shouted

Running and just a few feet away from the blue water John B laughed "This is how we're gonna be friends with the sharks Azariah!"

His legs crashed against the waves and he dumped Azariah out of his arms and into the blue ocean

The two were in their own little world, but they loved it. No pressure or hounding from anyone

Spending a few more hours together they swam and splashed each other until darkness

What a perfect day to kick off the summer
