Chapter 4 That must be what "normal" looks like

She left her home and waiting at the meeting spot that her and Loid agreed on.
Akarichecked her watch seeing Loid was late.
Loid is awfully late. Akari grumbled then her face turned normal. I hope he wasn't in some terrible accident. And if he wasn't I'd make sure he was for making me wait here like an idiot! Twilight never left me waiting he was always on time. Ugh why are you thinking about him now. Get a hold of yourself Akari!
Akari waited for another hour and Loid still didn't show up. The wind brushed past Akari pushing her hair. She sniffed feeling her nose run. Akari sighed rubbing her nose with her handkerchief.
I see. So this is what it means to have your heart toyed with. I must keep my work relationships favorable for my brother's sake, too. Which means that I must attend this party. Grrr Loid better hope I don't see him again I'll make him pay for toying with me so! Akari shouted angrily in her mind as she made her way to Camilla's house. She knocked on the door. You're late, Akari! Camilla said worriedly as she answered the door.

Oh? I thought you were coming with your boyfriend. Camilla said as Akari closed the front door. Akari groaned, crossing her arms.

My brother would never find out... Akari shook her head at the thought. Dominic grabbed Camilla by the arms pulling her away.
I'm so sorry. Have fun! Come on, Camilla. Help me bake this gratin. Dominic said as he and Camilla made there way to the kitchen. Akari sat down taking a deep breath. Once she opened her eyes there had a dark stare as she gazed around at everyone who showed up. Realized how normal everyone looked.

Oh, pardon me. Akari took out her handkerchief and handed it to Loid. One of my patients had a violent episode. It happens all the time to a psychiatrist. Have you been enjoying yourself, Akari? I see the house isn't burned to the ground. Loid joked smiling at her, making star smile a bit.

Because I didn't want to show him off, I couldn't have you idiot women flirting with him. Akari said with a smug smirk at Camilla making her angry.
It's embarrassing to say so, but this is my second marriage and I already have a child. So that also may have been hard for her to bring up. Loid said with a nervous smile. Making Camilla blink hard then step back glaring at Akari as her face was red with anger. Akari still clung to Loid with a smug smile.
Don't give me that shit! There is absolutely no way Akari has a husband who's that handsome as hot! Camilla turned and grabbed the gratin that was still hot. I'll embarrass her in front of everyone! Akari, I just got this piping hot gratin right out of the oven! Camilla faked tripping, tossing the piping hot pan her way. Oops, I seemed to have tripped! Akari stepped away from Loid kicking her foot up making wind brush pass Camilla's head making her hair raise up. Akari lightly kicked the pan in the air, catching it with the side of her foot. Some of the food dropped on Camilla's nose, burning her. Akari knocked into the air then caught it with her hands while Camilla whined in pain.
I admire your dedication to not wasting food, but it's a bit improper to use your feet, Akari.
I know you're not talking about me when you came in with blood covered on your face to a party! Akari nagged as she pointed at Loid's blood stains on his white collar.

Yeah, I guess. Akari said as Camilla stood up still glaring at Akari then smirked standing in front of Akari.

What kind of lies are you trying to pull here! Those were-massages were to cover I'd use for occupational murders. Akari turns her head to Loid who was already looking at her.

How wonderful. Loid said with a closed eye smile then turned his head to the people.

Akari, lost her parents at a very young age. She did all she could to care for her younger brother, even if it meant sacrificing herself. Be it for someone else, or for a specific reason, having to endure a merciless job, requires an incredible amount of dedication. Akari stared at Loid with awe as he talked.
And that's something to be very proud of. Let's go home, Akari. Loid said, making Akari blink.
