Chapter 32 We Are Going Out Next Weekend!

This old woman is a contact for Westalis's intelligence agency, WISE.
The old lady sat down sighing. Loid walked up, setting an orange soda on the counter making the old lady look at him.
This man's name is Loid forger, otherwise known by his code name, twilight. His occupation: spy. It appears as though, on top of the current important mission he is conducting, he's been given another.
Loid walks over to the train that just arrived.
This has been my life for decades now. Every day remains the same, and peace is fleeting. Will we ever see a day when we're not needed anymore? The lady wondered in her mind.
With Loid on his mission
Loid grabbed the briefcase off the ground while everyone else was unconscious. He dusted it off then started to leave.
Mission complete. Loid said in his mind walking out of the building.

Loid blew out a puff of smoke.

Akari picked up the empty places from the snack she and Anya ate.
Loid did mention that he was going to be late again, so why don't we eat out tonight? Akari said as she emphasized again but sighed smiling at Anya.
Yep. Anya said, making Akari nod.
Man the agency sure has Loid busy. He's been so tired lately. Akari said in her mind while picking up the dishes.
Papa has been doing spy stuff! Amazing! Anya said in her mind hearing Akari's thoughts.

Papa's job is so exciting. Today, he went to take down an arms dealer.  Anya thought while smiling.

I bring you my dish! Anya said, holding up two plates.
Thanks Anya. Akari smiled as Anya placed her plates next to the sink. Akari went back to washing the dishes, noticing something wasn't coming off the plate.
Hmm... it's not washing off... Akari said, sniffing her hands.

Akari's eyes turned dull as she stared at her hand.
I can still smell the blood from yesterday's kill. Why can't people just mind their own business. Akari spoke angrily in her mind as Anya stared at her in shock hearing her thoughts.

I keep getting all these extra missions every day, on top of operation strix. HQ must be in dire straits over the personnel shortage. Loid tiredly walked down the street then stopped infront of there apartment complex. When I get home, I have my pretend family to deal with. I am an agent. Therefore, my soul has no time to rest. Loid walked into the apartment complex. He heard the lady's on the floor gossiping.
Hey, don't you think the husband across the hall must be in trouble? It's supposed to be a day off, but he's working late into the night again.
They're our neighbors....
And they have a little child. That poor, neglected thing.
I rarely see the three of them together.
He's probably off cheating somewhere! Loid stood stunned that they assumed that.

Maybe he actually got fired, and can't bring himself to go home.
I was careless. I was consumed by my other missions that I neglected playing the role of the father well. Loid turned away and ran upstairs to their apartment.
Even the slightest suspicion or mistrust from those around us in a deception operation can be detrimental. I must do everything I can to remedy this situation. A threat to our family is a threat to the world! Loid opened the door to their home. We're going out next weekend! Loid stated leaving Akari and Anya confused. He placed his hat on the rack.
The three of us will have a good time. Where do we want to go? Loid asked, swaying as he walked over.  He saw Anya drawing something.
Oh? Is that a penguin, Anya? I know. Let's go to the aquarium. Loid suggested.
Um... you seem exhausted. Why not get some rest? Akari suggested worrying about Loid.
Akari, In order for our Pretend marriage to continue, we must do everything we can to seem like a normal, happy family. So look forward to the weekend! Loid said to Anya. She smiled.
So exciting! Anya said with a bright smile.
I need to take care of all of my other missions before then.
Later that night
Akari sat on her side of the bed brushing her hair. Loid layed on his side reading a book. Akari sat her brush down, turning toward Loid.
Loid are you sure. WISE has been contacting you for so many missions. You should rest. I'm sure Anya would understand if you tell her you're tired. Akari said, rubbing loids arm. He looked at her sighing.
I know but our neighbors are starting to think I'm a terrible husband and father. We can't have any suspicions about our family. Akari pouted, grabbing Loids hands.
Who cares what they're gonna tell the secret police that you're always working? Look, just don't overdo yourself, okay. Just take it easy. At least for me? Akari asked with puppy dog eyes. Loid smiled happily knowing that Akari cared about his well-being.
Fine, I'll try to take it easy. He kissed her on the cheek. Just don't make those puppy eyes again, that's not usual for you. Loid said, making Akari laugh.
Yeah you're right I felt so girly when I did that. And you missed twilight. Akari said with a smirk.
I missed ho- akari cut him off kissing his lip making his eyes widen. Before he could return the kiss akari pulled away.
I love you Loid. Akari said smiling.
I love you too akari. Loid said pulling her down and cuddling her and falling asleep.
That weekend
