"HEY UNDERACHIEVER." flynn said walking to julie, her best friend. "hey disappointment." she said back.

"where's di?" flynn asked, since the siblings were basically conjoined at the hip.

"no idea." julie shrugged. everyone was just let out of class and getting ready for their next class, and for flynn, julie, and indigo it was music.

indigo and julie were really into music until their mother died and they never sang or played piano again, so they don't play in music in class either.

"here she comes." julie said, seeing her sister walking down the hallway towards flynn and herself.

"hey sis, hey disappointment." indigo said, leaning on the locker across from julie and flynn.

"hey go go."

"hey overachiever."

flynn then raised her hands in surrender, speaking.  "ok, i know you don't want me to ask but have you guys figured out what you're going to do today?" flynn asked the two.

"i'll know in the moment." julie said.

"and i know that i will be skipping for the sole reason of me knowing i'm not going to play or sing." indigo said grabbing he straps of her bag and beginning to walk away.

flynn grabbed her arm, "ah ah ah, you my friend will be going to music to at least try. both of you. ms. harrison said this is your last chance."

"we know, we were there." julie said sighing.

"see you at the rally!" someone said, and the trio turned to see carrie wilson.

carrie used to be julie and indigo's friend seeing as their parents were friends, until their mom died and carrie never spoke to them again, only to bully them.

"ugh, what is she handing out." flynn said. "desperation?" indigo said and flynn hummed in agreement.

"here you go, my group's performing at the pep rally tomorrow." carrie said to the trio.

"i'm sure you have nothing better to do." she smirked.

"oh my gosh, carrie thanks." flynn said sarcastically. "oh my gosh, flynn don't bother coming!" carrie said, giving flynn the same energy.

"i don't think we want to hear you promote your boring youtube channel again anyways." indigo said to the girl, who stormed off.

flynn and indigo high-fived and then turn to julie who was staring dreamily at nick, aka carrie's boyfriend. "nick? still?" flynn said to her friend.

"you know they're gonna get married and have a bunch of unholy babies" indigo said. "nick's a sweetheart." julie defended.

"you'd actually have to talk to them to know that." indigo said again.

"and only one of them have to be a demon to make a demon baby."

"demon!" flynn yelled at carrie and they all turned as carrie turned to them.

the three snickered then turned back. "there's those smiles. mow let's go prove everybody wrong." flynn said as they walked to music.

indigo was more scared than she had ever been in her life as she sat in music class, she was almost always guaranteed a spot in the music program. but now she knew she wasn't, and you could say it made her actually see how talented her classmates were.

the performances were amazing, singers, drummers, guitars, violins, and other instruments. nick was playing on his electric guitar and everyone clapped after.

"and our second to last performance, indigo?" ms. harrison said. indigo got up, with the sheet music to amazing grace in her hand.

walking up to the piano, she was very very nervous. she couldn't stop moving her fingers on her jean shorts, and it was making her angry.

indigo sat, placing the music down and lifting the cover.

as soon as her fingers touched the keys she got flashbacks to when her mother sat in between her and julie, teaching her daughters how to play the piano.

indigo pulled her hands back, and flynn and julie stood up in concern. "i'm sorry." indigo whispered to ms. harrison.

"is this where we clap?" carrie blurted. "watch it carrie." flynn said following indigo out the door.

"julie! you're next." ms. harrinson said as julie was following them out.

"i'm sorry ms. harrison, but indigo is way stronger than me about this whole thing. if she can't play i definitely won't be able to."

-

indigo went straight to sleep when she got home, she wasn't tired, she was mad she didn't play and sad that her mom's death is affecting what she used to love to do so dearly.

by the time she woke up it was night, and julie came into her room. "hey go go, dad wants us to clean mom's studio. since he needs to take pictures for the website to move" she said hesitantly.

"really, after what happened in music?" indigo said. "look i know it's hard, we have each other and cleaning out the studio will be refreshing. don't you think?"

'i dunno  jules, i really don't know."

"look, i..i don't want to do it alone. i'm  scared too, please?"

"fine." indigo shook her head and put on her monster slippers.

julie and indigo held hands as they walked to their garage, or their mom's old studio.

when they turned on the lights, indigo sighed. all the memories, the chair, the piano that was covered, the loft where the girls and their mother used to have sleepovers.

julie pulled off the cover on the piano, and indigo walked over to the bench.

there was some sheet music on the bench, and she picked it up "i'm so sorry mom." indigo spoke looking up.

"that we haven't been in here." indigo sighed. "and that i couldn't play in school, for your honor." indigo stood up to hug her sister who was visibly sad.

"it's gonna be okay inds ." julie said, even though indigo was trying to comfort her.

everyone knows the death was the hardest on indigo, she learned the most from their mom and once she died she tried to teach julie what she didn't get to learn, but struggled to walk in the studio again.

eventually julie learned on her own, but stopped right before the funeral, hitting both sisters hard.

it was a struggle to clean our their memories, but unfortunately for them it had to be done.
