"HEY IM GONNA GO AND MEET flynn near her house so we can head to - where are you going?" julie said following her sister as the girls were supposed to be on their way to school.
"luke said something about a song, that mom wrote." indigo said, opening the studio door.
when the two walked in they looked around the studio, indigo making sure the boys were lurking somewhere.
"he didn't lie." julie said spreading four sheets of music across the piano.
julie lifted the piano cover, and looked at the keys. "do you wanna-" julie asked.
before their mom passed, they had a 'band'. it was called the molina women, and indigo had the most beautiful voice, and julie was a beast on the piano.
since julie was shy and indigo was not, indigo always sang, even tho julie could also. julie played the piano, and her mom always played the tambourine.
julie set up the sheet music, and then started to play while indigo looked over her shoulder at the lyrics on the paper.
"here's one thing, i want you to know, you got someplace to go." indigo sang looking at julie.
"life's a test yes, but you go toe to toe, you don't no you grow." indigo sang again and pointed at julie.
"and you use your pain, cause it makes you you, though i wish i could hold you through it. i know it's not the same, you got living to do. and i just want you to do it." julie sang.
"so get up, get out relight that spark, you know the rest by heart." indigo sang, it was true. this was a song their mom wrote about julie and indigo, she used to sing it to them every night.
"wake up, wake up, if it's all you do. look out look in inside of you. it's not what you lost, it what you gain raising your voice to the rain." indigo said standing up and walking around.
"wake up your dream and make it true, look out look in inside of you. it's not what you lost, relight that spark time to come out of the dark wake up. wake up." indigo walked back over to sit on the piano.
"better wake those demons, just look them in the eye. no reason not to try. life's a mess yes, i won't let it cloud my mind. i let my fingers fly." julie sang.
"and i use the pain, cause it's apart of me. and i'm ready to power through it. gonna find the strength, find the melody, cause you showed me how to do it." she sang again.
"ao get up get out, relight that spark, you know the rest by heart." indigo said bopping her head. "wake up, wake up, if it's all you do. look out look in inside of you. it's not what you lost, it's what you gain raising your voice to the rain."
"wake up your dream and make it true, look out look in inside of you. it's not what you lost, relight that spark time to come out of the dark. wake up." indigo sang getting up and using her hand as a mic. "wake up." julie echoed.
"so wake the spirit, spirit, i wanna hear it, hear it! no need to fear your not alone, you're gonna find your way ohh." indigo said walking back over to julie.
"wake up wake up if it's all you do." julie sang as she stopped playing. "look out look in inside of you. it's not what you lost, it what you gain raising your voice to the rain. wake up your dream and make it true." indigo sang sitting next to julie on the bench. "look out look in inside of you." the sisters sang together.
"when you feel lost, relight that spark time to come out of the dark. wake up. oo wake up." indigo sang, finishing the song.
the sisters smiled, feeling as if they got their spark back. they needed to sing, they needed to sing for their mom.
"carlos told me you'd be out here. we need to talk." flynn said coming in. "are you okay?" indigo asked concerned.
"no, i'm not okay! you just got kicked out of music! both of you! i've been up all night thinking about what i was gonna say." she continued.
"might've drank seven sodas, but...i need to get this out." flynn said. "wait. we have something to tell you..." julie said.
"no, it's my turn to talk. you can't give up music. your music's like a gift, that would be a tragedy. so, you're basically, like, canceling christmas, and i love christmas!" flynn ranted.
"flynn, we..." indigo started. "uh-uh! when we were six, we promised to be in a band together. 3lw. 3 little woman!" she continued.
"we never agreed to that name." julie spoke. flynn sighed. "that's not the point. jules, if you guys leave the music program, we'll be apart forever. that's just what happens. sure we'll see each other in the hall sometime, but... we'll have different lives, make new friends." flynn spoke again.
"that's not true." indigo spoke. "you're right. i won't be making any new friends. and the only time we'll contact each other is when we'll be liking each other's posts on instagram. every time i'll be hitting that little heart, my heart will be breaking because my best friends left me, and...do you have any soda? my head hurts." flynn ranted.
"can i talk now?" julie said. "fine." flynn said. "i just played the piano and indigo sang again." julie said.
"what? why didn't you just say so?" flynn said excited. "i was trying, then your seven sodas kicked in." julie said. "i'm so happy for you guys! and me!" flynn said.
indigo laughed. "look at you, looking all, i don't know, alive again." flynn spoke.
"right? it's like we drank seven sodas." indigo said sarcastically. "what made you play again?" she asked.
"indigo found this song mom wrote us." julie said. "woah." flynn trailed off.
"i know. anything involving music reminds us of her. and then i woke up this morning... realizing that's why julie should play, and i should sing. to keep her memory alive." indigo said.
"aw! come here." flynn said, hugging her friends. then she gasped.
"we need to tell mrs. harrison you can play so you can stay in school and my life won't be that sad picture i just painted for you. my girls are back. 3 little women lives again!" flynn shouted.
"not our band name." indigo shook her head. "i gave you a t-shirt in the 7th grade that says otherwise." flynn said grabbing her bag, and so did julie and indigo and they walked out the studio.
"oh hey!" indigo said as she saw the boys outside. flynn looked back in confusion. indigo forgetting only julie and her and see them.
"let's hustle!" julie said to take flynn's focus away. when she turned away to walk, julie and indigo waved at the boys.
"don't worry! we weren't listening." reggie said and luke kicked him.
flynn turned around and the girls prenteded to be shooing a fly "oh. uh... oh." indigo said laughing awkwardly.
