INDIGO, JULIE, AND FLYNN WERE in the music room trying to convince their teacher to let the molina's back in. "believe me, i think it's wonderful that you guys sang again.

"i prayed for this moment for over a year. but it's too late."

"what if you just hear them play, you know they're amazing." flynn said.

"it wouldn't matter, two new students start tomorrow." mrs. harrison said.

she sighed. "there's only-" "so many spots.. and if we don't participate we're out, we know." julie said.

"i did everything i could to keep you here this year, but principal lessa was very clear that yesterday was your last chance. you'll have to reapply next semester." then the bell rang, and it was time for their next class.

indigo sighed, and just left the music room swiftly. "i'm truly sorry." mrs. harrison said to julie and flynn as the students filed in.

-

indigo walked into her room, texting some of her friends on her phone. she looked up to see all 3 boys in her room.

"what are you guys doing in my room?" she shouted, dropping her phone. "uh? well.." the boys said overlapping each other.

"we were looking for the kitchen?" luke said.

"this....this can't happen. it's creepy. get off my bed!" indigo said to reggie.

"hey indigo. what's in the box?" luke said pointing to a lockbox on her shelf. "that's off limits." she responded.

"oh, oh okay. girl stuff." luke said in a sing-song voice. indigo crossed her arms and stared at the boys.

"ohh, like butterflies and glitter?" reggie said. "oh come on.. i'm sorry about them." alex apologized.

"it's none of your business. and yes there might be some glitter." indigo spoke.

"indigo glitter? get it cause your name is a color?" luke said and indigo glared at him. "nevermind..." he trailed off.

alex picked up a photo on indigo's vanity and walked to her bed with it. "hey, i actually picked something up." he said, and it dropped on the bed. "i dropped it."

"is that your mom and julie?" alex said looking at the object he dropped.

"yes and it's my favorite picture of us so if you break it, i'll break you." indigo said snatching it from the boy's view.

"okay well sorry but we're kind of unbreakable at this point." alex said. "i will find a way." indigo said turning to her closet.

she turned back suddenly. "i don't get it, you guys can mess up my bed, pick up your instruments, but you can't pick up other stuff." she said.

"i know right it's hard, but for some reason our instruments. easy." luke said.

"yeah like super easy, and check out what i learned today." reggie stood up, and his guitar fell into his hands. then he fell back on the cushion in front of indigo's bed.

"yeah that looked super easy." indigo rolled her eyes. "it's like i always thought, our instruments are attached to our souls." luke said. then footsteps were heard coming to indigo's room.

"hey. everything okay?" indigo's dad asked. "yeah. i'm fine." indigo said. "okay. i thought i heard you talking to someone."

"nope. must've been my laptop... that i just closed." she said looking at her laptop chuckling.

"okay. if you need anything..." he said about to leave.

"yeah. thanks." indigo smiled. alex exhaled loudly and indigo looked at him weirdly.

"your dad seems like the kind of guy who likes to barbecue. i bet he has a great ribs recipe." reggie said randomly.

"i don't know. but if you guys wanna talk to me, we have to do it in the studio. he's worried about me enough as it is." indigo said.

"he seems chill. you should just tell him about us." luke said.

"you're kidding, right? this past year, everyone's been watching over julie and i, being super nice, as if they're waiting for us to snap."

"especially me, since i was older when our mom died. if i tell my dad i met a ghost band, i'll be back to talking to dr. turner three days a week!" indigo ranted.

luke clicked his tongue. "you probably shouldn't tell him." he said walking back to the box.

"indigo..." luke started. "oh my gosh! i thought i told you to leave that alone!" indigo said fed up.

luke was officially her least favorite.

"i know. you just shouldn't have said nothing 'cause now i can't stop thinking about it, so... what's in the box, indigo?" luke said.

"it's just my dream box, okay? whenever i get a thought or something, i write it down and get it out of my mind." indigo sighed.

"like lyrics?" luke questioned. "they would be if i still wrote music like i used to with my mom. now it's just full of stuff that doesn't make me sad." indigo said, getting a bit sad.

"but, i mean, you do play. we heard you and julie this morning." alex said. "in the garage?" indigo said getting angry.

that was her and julie's moment, then finding music again. but of course the stupid ghosts were there, ruining something again.

"so you were there too?" she yelled. "uh... i don't... uh... he was, like... we were... somewhere." the boys overlapped each other again.

"so, where is your kitchen, by the way?" luke said diving onto indigo's bed and looking up at her.

"okay, we need to set some boundaries." indigo said leaning down to luke's level as he stared at her.

"for starters, luke stop looking at me like you want to kiss me."

"and most importantly, stay out of my room!" indigo yelled.

"mm-hmm. crystal clear. let's go. we're leaving." alex and luke said. "yes, ma'am! we are out of here." reggie said strumming his guitar strings.

"hey! um, sorry. i didn't mean to bother you." alex popped back in. "did you get back into your music program?" he asked.

"no. no, i didn't." indigo said, shrugging. "i'm sorry. that really sucks." alex said back. "thanks." indigo nodded.

alex looked around awkwardly and indigo did a closed lipped smile. "is that all?" she asked. "yeah. yeah, this is getting weird." alex left again.
