Scaramouche stood menacingly in front of you, glaring daggers as he looked as though he was awaiting a response.
"Isn't it strange how a five year old suddenly goes missing for an entire day, and then shows up right as the Fatui begin to investigate a specific area?" Scaramouche eyed you intently, questioning your motives. He was catching on, and at a rapid pace as well.
You found the will to get up and sit on the snow, on your knees as you listened to Scaramouche interrogate you.
"Well? Do you have something to explain?" His tone became more harsh and demanding.
You clenched your pants tightly, your head rushing with thoughts. You had to make up an excuse quickly, and a believable one at that.
Just then, you remembered. You were in the body of a five year old. You could easily use it to your advantage.
You quickly retraced your thoughts, what does a child always do when something bad happens?
They cry.
You didn't even know if you could fake cry or not, but you forced yourself to cry nonetheless.
Tears burst out of your eyes, rolling down your cheeks as you let out loud, high-pitched sobs.
"I-I'm sorry, s-s-sir!" You wretched out between sobs, "I-I-I wanted to- to play m-more ou-outside! But th-then... I-I got lost..."
Scaramouche raised his eyebrow, suspicious of your act, "Really? That's quite surprising. I wonder how you managed to escape past the gates?"
As you looked at the dark violet colored haired man, you couldn't help but sob more. You had to make it more believable, despite how fake it sounded.
Another idea clicked inside your mind. You hurriedly stumbled up, Scaramouche watching your every move.
With not another chance to think, you flung onto his leg as you clung to it tightly. You were shaking, unsure if it was out of fear or the cold, but it added to the act.
"Hey!-" Scaramouche tried to pry you off of him, but he unfortunately failed as you stubbornly stuck to his side. "You-"
"Lord Harbinger... I think you should- Uh- Hold off... on... interrogating a- Uh- Five year old..." One of Scaramouche's subordinates spoke up from behind him, fear clearly laced in their voice.
"Shut up." Scaramouche shot his eyes to the subordinate, his tone sharp and cold. "You think you have the right to order me?"
The subordinate let out a little peep before quickly skidding away.
Scaramouche was perplexed. He hadn't taken care of a human child in years, so he stiffened as you sobbed onto his leg. And it's not like he could actually do anything against you, anyway. You were still The Tsaritsa's prized possession after all, so it was a dangerous game for him to try and play.
