You woke up in a cold sweat.
In your dream, or the vision of the future... you saw it.
Diluc Ragnvindr, the future Darknight Hero of Mondstadt, would be executed in three days.
You recalled the moments in the vision, instantly feeling the urge to puke. The vision was gruesome, Diluc would die a horrible death.
You clutched the bedsheets underneath your fingers without realizing, only focused on calming yourself down.
This... wasn't how it was like in your past life.
When you were playing through the game, there was only a brief description on how Diluc had gotten banned from entering Sneznhaya. Not that he was tortured and executed in the most horrible way imaginable.
If Diluc died in three days, how would the events of the game unfold without him?
Was it because you existed in this world? Did your existence change the course of events that were originally supposed to happen?
You bit your lip in nervousness. This wasn't right. You weren't even the main character, so it didn't make even the slightest bit of sense.
But, if your mere being was able to change the outcome of someone's fate, then who's to say you couldn't change it again?
Your nervousness was much more bearable, being replaced with the strength of determination.
Would this make you a traitor? Yes, absolutely.
Would you still be a traitor if no one found out? Technically yes, but no because no one would know anyway.
But did it matter if you were a traitor or not? You had no idea how the future would play out if Diluc died in three days, and that was the bigger cause of concern.
You flipped over the blanket covering your body and got out. Quickly, you stuffed pillows into the spot where you were sleeping and began to dress yourself again.
You had to do this in complete silence. You were staying at a hotel, and there were soldiers staying in the rooms around yours.
Of course, you couldn't just walk out your room down to the lobby. It would make you suspicious, as you were leaving incredibly early in the morning. And so, you chose the best next option.
You softly opened the window of your hotel room. Luckily, your room was located on the side away from the street, and you could easily get in and out. Unlike when you were five, you didn't need a rope anymore. Instead, you were able to plunge down like those in the game.
You landed as silently as you could manage, immediately darting to the shadows. You continued this action until you got to Zapolyarny Palace.
A part of you wanted to waltz up to the guards and talk them into letting you in. Though, things like that didn't work anymore. You lost your child privileges when you turned 13.
