I ran aimlessly. I didn't know where to go. How could he just disappear and not tell anyone? Especially me. This doesn't feel real. The man I love, being hunted for murdering someone. And now he's missing. I don't even want to believe it.

I decided to look for him. I started by going to the D&D club meeting spot at the school. Nothing. I went to the woods by his trailer. Nothing. I went to lovers lake. Nothing. Then finally I went to the last spot I knew to look. Our spot in the woods by the school. No one else ever went out there. I went there with whatever hope I had left. "Eddie?" I said. No response. "EDDIE?" I yelled. Still nothing. I was done. I was convinced he was gone. I started sobbing. My whole body gave out. I feel to my knees. I couldn't give up, but at the same time, there was nowhere else to look. Then I heard something. Something moved behind me. I stood up and turned around. There he was.

"Eddie. . . Oh my god" I went to jump into his arms. But for the first time ever. He didn't do it in return. My heart sunk even deeper. I looked at him. My eyes were teary. I could tell his heart was shattered.

"Sweetheart. You shouldn't be here." He said. Not coldly, just not as warmly as usual. He looked like he was going to cry. "You're gonna get in trouble if they find out you saw me" he mumbled. He looked down and started crying.

"Eddie, I can't leave you here. Please just tell me what happened. We can fix this. We can clear your name. Everything can be normal again-" I picked up his hands. My voice cracked as I spoke frantically. He just looked at me and cupped my face in his hands.

"(Y/N) I need you to promise me something. Promise me you'll be okay." He choked. "Promise me, you won't do anything stupid. That you'll stay safe." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "Eddie, I can't do this without you. I can't lose you. Please just come home." I was sobbing. "(Y/N), I can't. I have to go away. Until all this gets solved." He said in between cried. A tear of mine fell onto his hand. Then he finally pulled me into a hug. I held on so tight that no one could've separated us if they tried. I never wanted to let go.

"I love you sweetheart." He whispered. I had a bad feeling. I felt like this would be the last time I held him for a long time. "I love you too Eddie." I said. "But... where are you going?" I said letting go and holding his face in my hands. He gently takes my hands off his face and kisses me. Softly. Then he looks me in the eyes, "I wish I could tell you." He dropped my hands, and started to walk away.

"Eddie wait!" I sobbed. He turned to me. "I'll see you again soon sweetheart. Be safe."  He said between concealed sobs. Then turned around and walked away.

I broke down. I fell back down to my knees. There's no way he's gone. Wether it's for a week or a year. There's no way that was real. My heart was shattered. I probably stayed in that exact spot for  an hour. But mentally, I never left it.
