A week passes. Marco along with both his Parents, Mariposa, Star's Parents, and all of their friends arrive back at the hospital in Echo Creek. Since the incident at Washington D.C. and the failure to acquire U.S. Military support, Toffee's army have once again gone on the offensive.

In a jaw dropping show of force, the Septarian expeditionary force has marched all the way from D.C. to the U.S. West Coast and has occupied Echo Creek, California along with the rest of Los Angeles. With it now widely known the septarians are almost practically immortal, the U.S. can do nothing but helplessly watch as Los Angeles becomes Toffee's newest military outpost.

It's late afternoon. Marco is obviously worried as he grips the various gifts he got for Star. A doctor comes in and tells them Star is in stable enough condition for visitations to be allowed. Moon turns to Marco and tells him he should see her first. After a reassuring nod from Rivers, Marco gets up from his chair and walks to Star's room.

Marco enters the room to find Star, unconscious in her hospital bed and hooked up to an IV stand and heart monitor. He is carrying a bunch of flowers for Star along with a tray of her favorite foods - Sugar Burritos, Fortune Cookies, and Captain Blanche's Sugar Seeds Cereal. He also bought her a cat, carrying it with his left arm Marco tries to quietly say hi to Star and asks her how's it going? Marco puts the food and flowers on the table by her bed, puts the cat on her bed. He then finds a chair in the room and sits down to look out of the window in Star's room, with unmistakable worry clearly shown on his face. The cat goes up to Star's face and starts to lick it.

Suddenly, Star wakes up, saying excitedly that she senses a cat. Despite the injuries she's sustained from Toffee, Star is mostly fine - not even a loss of memory has occurred.

Marco is startled but relieved and the two of them ask each other anxiously how the other one has been. They are both overjoyed to see each and give each other a big hug. Then, Star feels a pain in her forehead and has to lay back down on her bed. Star asks Marco groggily how long she's been asleep. Marco, a tad bit shocked Star isn't exactly grasping how serious her injuries were, tells her she's been unconscious for a week. Star just says ok and calmly pets the cat without a care in the world.

Then, Marco starts to cry a little, then a lot. Star asks Marco worriedly what's wrong? Marco can't contain the guilt he feels any more about what happened at the protest. With tears flowing rapidly down Marco's cheeks, he apologizes from the bottom of his heart to Star for not being able to protect her ( especially against a threat like Toffee ).

Star then puts down the cat, gets up from her bed, and looks at Marco directly at him with a determined look in her eyes. Still feeling guilty about not protecting her, Marco keeps his head slightly down until Star firmly commands Marco to look at her. Marco does so, and then Star kisses him. Taken a little bit back by this, Star firmly tells Marco to get a hold of himself, he is not a failure and there was nothing he could've done to prevent what happened! Marco, a bit more reassured but still fraught with anxiety, nods in agreement with tears still flowing down his face.

Star continues on, reassuringly letting him know she doesn't need anyone to protect her, she is ok, he is the best thing to happen in her life, he is her best friend, he always will be her best friend!

Feeling a bit more reassured, Marco joins Star in petting the cat as Star and Marco's friends and families come in to check on Star. Star quickly answers all their questions and makes sure to remind and reassure all of them she is doing fine.

Then as she is sitting down and talking to her Mom, Star starts to become nervous and anxious and tells Marco she has to get back to the house quickly, remembering something she needs to get - her wand.
