Star and Marco arrive back at the camp where they find that one of the camp fires a fancy table for two set up by Jackie, Tom, and Buff frog. Tom and Jackie serve them their favorite meals ( Nachos with a side of Fortune cookies ) as they have a nice evening laughing almost non stop at Marco's jokes comparing Toffee to the snack Toffee. They also have a nice time looking at the night sky.
Suddenly, one of Star's cavalry scouts ( whom Star sent out earlier in the morning to monitor Toffee's army ) rides his horse frantically to the edge of the camp and informs Star and Marco that Toffee is preparing his soldiers to march on Monster Town.
The happy mood Star and Marco were in turns into shock and horror. They know Toffee will not hesitate to burn the town to the ground. Without a second thought, Star quickly gets on her warnicorn and prepares to ride out and save the town. She is stopped by some of her generals, who coldly tell her it's not worth it and it's too risky. Most of the other human soldiers are not yet ready to face Toffee in battle again or are simply tired and are wary of Star's decision. Most of the camp is now wide awake and looks at Star with anxious stares.
Star is now furious and berates the soldiers for not even thinking of protecting the citizens of Monster Town. Star then angrily asks if there really is no one willing to fight alongside her, no one that has her back! Star hears a slightly soft but sure voice tell her "I've got your back!" Star looks to her side to see Marco riding a warnicorn with just a shield and a sword, smiling back at her. He's slightly anxious and lets her know this idea is slightly crazy, but adds that they're best friends and best friends never, absolutely never, abandon each other.
Star smiles back at him, reassured at least one person, her best friend, still has her back no matter what. Marco then looks to the crowd of soldiers looking anxiously at the two. He gives an impassioned speech aimed at the human soldiers on how stupid their anti monster views are, reminding them they need to stick together in order to defeat Toffee. Marco then asks if there is anyone else willing to join them. Buff Frog, Tom, Janna, Ferguson, Alfonzo, Jackie, Chloe, Pony Head, Dennis and even Ludo all volunteer and then the rest of the army as well. Star decides to choose Buff frog as the person to join them and leaves Tom in charge of the army while they're gone.
The three of them ride out on their warnicorns and head straight for Monster Town as fast as possible, hoping to prevent a massacre. Buff frog makes sure to remind Star how dangerous Toffee is and asks sternly if she has a plan. Star confidently tells Buff frog she does have a plan!
Monster Town is engulfed in flames as septarian soldiers use flamethrowers and torches to burn nearly the whole town. By the time Star, Marco, and Buff Frog arrive, the town has been occupied by a septarian contingent at least two hundred strong ( who have brought cavalry, cannons, and armored personnel carriers with them ). The Monster civilians, frightened and confused, have all been herded to the center of the town by the septarians and cannons have been aimed directly at them. Leading the septarian contingent is Toffee!
In the distance, Rasticore watches the appalling scene unfold, his warnicorn beside him. He watches with silent disgust as the town is engulfed in flames. Rasticore now truly sees Toffee for what he truly is...A power hungry warlord!
Toffee gives the command to fire the cannons at the civilians when the cannons are struck by a magic blast that turns them all into ice cream. Toffee is shocked by this development and turns to see Star in Butterfly form heading straight for him, followed by Buff frog and Marco on their warnicorns.
The civilians flee to safety as Star lands a few feet in front of Toffee. With Marco and Buff Frog joining her by her side, the three of them berate Toffee and demand that this ends! Toffee rejects the offer to end it and Toffee gets into a heated and angry exchange of words between himself and Star, Marco, and Buff Frog. After this, the fight begins, and the septarian soldiers don't hesitate to join in.
A great number are defeated by Marco with his karate and Buff Frog with his strength. Meanwhile, Star and Toffee are battling it out in an intense magic duel. Realizing the duel is reaching a stalemate, Toffee backs away for a few feet. Star follows him, fully prepared to continue the duel until her feet are directly on top of big red x painted on the road. Toffee then commands his soldiers to activate the trap. One of the septarian soldiers beaten up by Marco pulls out a box with a red button on it and clicks the button. Suddenly, giant metal bars emerge from the dirt road around Star and quickly trap her in a giant magic resistant cage.
Out of the darkness from the sky, a giant helicopter appears above them. The helicopter shines its search light on Marco, Buff Frog, and now panicked Star. With all their might, Buff Frog and Marco try desperately to pull apart the thick metal beams of the cage to no avail. A large grappling hook is dangled down from the helicopter and attached to the top of Star's cage. At the same time a ladder is dropped down from the helicopter for Toffee to climb up on.
The cage is soon being pulled upward. Buff Frog charges at the cage, hoping to use his strength to pull it back to the ground. Toffee however intercepts Buff Frog and knocks him unconscious with a single punch to the side of the face. Toffee is now facing Marco, who angrily demands Toffee release Star and immediately. Toffee instead taunts Marco and his inability to do anything about his situation. Marco charges at Toffee and the two engage in a brief karate fight. Marco seems to be holding his own at first, but is soon utterly beaten up by Toffee. Emerging from the fight with barely a scratch, Toffee climbs up the ladder and into the helicopter.
As the helicopter fully hoists the cage up, Star is able to find a piece of paper and briefly reads it ( hoping to know where they're taking her ). After seeing the paper's significance, she makes the paper into a paper airplane and throws it towards Marco. The helicopter then leaves. Marco and the unconscious Buff Frog are left in the burning ruins of Monster Town, surrounded by the unconscious septarians they've knocked out.
Away from the smoldering wreck of what was once Monster Town, Rasticore decides he has seen enough and leaves with his warnicorn as fast as he can.
Marco is devastated and nearly loses all hope when the wind carries the paper airplane Star made. It's a map of the island where they are taking Star along with a name: Base 2. Putting the paper in his pocket, Marco knows what he must do - Rescue Star!
A beaten up Marco and Buff Frog ride back into camp later that night. As quickly as they can, they gather Tom, Janna, Jackie, Ferguson, Alfonzo, Chloe, Pony Head, Ludo, Dennis, and a few high ranking Mewman army officers for an emergency meeting.
As the meeting begins, Marco frantically informs everyone in the tent about what happened at Monster Town and how they now need to come up with a plan to rescue Star.
But before they can all come up with a plan, a sentry barges into the tent and informs Marco that a defector from Toffee's army has arrived at the camp.
As soon as he hears this, Marco orders that the defector be brought into the tent immediately, desperately hoping that whoever this is may know where Star is!
The mysterious defector soon comes into the tent wearing a hooded cloak. Once inside, the figure soon lifts up the cloak's hood, revealing himself to be Rasticore - Toffee's second in command. Marco and the group are in shock!
Rasticore reveals he is disgusted by Toffee and his actions of late. To prove he really does want to help, Rasticore gives Marco the map he took from Toffee's camp. The Mewman army officers are fully apprehensive of Rasticores intentions. But when Marco looks at Rasticores map and the one Star gave him, he sees they're almost the exact same.
Seeing also Rasticore's map also has the Island's coordinates, Marco overrules the advice of the army officers and cautiously accepts Rasticore's help.
Together, they soon devise a plan: Rasticore will secretly take Marco, Buff Frog, Jackie, Tom, Ludo, Chole, and Dennis to the island to rescue Star while Pony Head, Alfonzo, and Ferguson are tasked with traveling to the dimensions to recruit more soldiers for Star's army. The three of them use their dimension traveling scissors and begin their missions immediately.
Finally, Janna agrees to watch over the camp during the rescue operation. With that, the meeting ends and the rescue group heads out of the camp, determined to rescue Star at all costs.
