Star Vs. The Forces of Evil: The Return of Toffee

A Reluctant Queen

  The next day, a hastily organized coronation ceremony takes place in Butterfly Castle's throne room. Hundreds of citizens from all over Mewni are in attendance. As it is about to begin, Marco and Tom see someone is missing - Star. The two of them decide to go look for her and find Star huddled beside the front gate of the castle, nearly consumed with worry. Tom and Marco try to comfort Star and encourage her but to no avail! She feels she's not ready to become Queen again.

Tom and Marco briefly go back inside and come back out with someone who's sure to change Star's mind. That person is Yvgeny Bulgolyubov, aka Buff Frog, who came to see the Coronation ceremony with his Children. Star's mood instantly brightens when she sees Buff Frog! Buff Frog successfully encourages her to become Queen, reminding her she is more than capable of the task.

Star enters the Throne room and with Marco by her side. She is formally declared the acting Queen of Mewni. Just as the crown is about to be placed on her head, a very loud thud is heard on one of the building's walls. This is followed by another, then another, then another! It means only one thing...Toffee's army has arrived!

A few kilometers from the castle, an advanced guard of septarian soldiers have begun to shell the castle with artillery fire. Inside the castle, panic begins to build and Star knows they need to all evacuate the castle immediately. She organizes a successful exit out of the castle along with successfully retrieving the Royal Standard and a few pairs of dimensional traveling scissors. However, she leaves the crown jewels of Mewni ( including the crown itself ) behind.

As Star's first action as the new Queen of Mewni, she orders the entire population of the area around Butterfly Castle to evacuate to the Johansen Kingdom for safety. Before leaving the city around the castle, Star and Marco give each of their friends one pair of dimensional traveling scissors. Detaching 1,000 soldiers to guard and protect the refugees, she leads her remaining 8,000 troops to Castle Avarius II ( even as that means going through the Forest of Certain Death ) in order to rest and recruit more soldiers. By this point, Buff Frog has joined Star's armies and Star happily agrees to help take care of his children.

Butterfly Castle is now being thoroughly peppered by septarian artillery and missile fire and is being engulfed in flames. As the army leaves Butterfly Castle during the night, fireworks of all colors are launched into the night sky to signal the coronation of a new Queen..and as a sign of defiance against the septaraian attack on their castle. On one of the hills by Butterfly Castle, Toffee watches the fireworks along with Rasticore and two other septarian Generals. Toffee is furious ( realizing he now has to deal with another Royal Army ), but keeps his calm as best he can.

Rasticore advises Toffee that they should go after Star immediately. To Rasticore's surprise, Toffee rejects the idea, stating the soldiers need more rest. Toffee then reassures Rasticore that he knows exactly where she's going and she still doesn't know their full plans.

Star, Marco, and some of their friends go to check in the back of the line to see if there are any stragglers that need assistance: they find none! Just as they are about to head back to the front of the column, the sound of crumbling stone permeates the air. Star, Marco, and Pony Head look and see the artillery barrage against the castle intensify.

It is a horrific sight, with all of them watching in broken hearted silence. Marco goes over to Star to try to comfort her, with Star holding Marco's hand tightly in silence. Star is the one most shaken by this! As tears well up in her eyes, Star contemplates the horror of it all. Her home, the one she's known all her life, is now being destroyed bit by bit like never before. With a heavy heart, Star turns her back on the heart wrenching scene and heads to the front of the column. Marco and Pony Head follow suit.

The next morning, the Septarians enter Butterfly castle, only to be greeted by an eerie silence. Remarkably, a few objects ( including the furniture of the throne room ) are still largely intact. The underground rooms such as the mural room have been completely undamaged.

As Toffee slowly sifts through the rubble of the throne room, he discovers the royal crown of mewni. Showing it to his soldiers, they come up with an idea.

The septarians organize their own coronation ceremony with the audience being his own army. Surrounded by his generals, Toffee is proclaimed Dictator of Mewni and the crown is placed on his head.

Outside his own realm, no government in Mewni nor any government on Earth recognize his rule.
