Chapter 31

"So, I'm your love of the life huh?" Mukti asked having a cheeky smile.

"Did you even hear what I said?" Abhi asked acting annoyed with a slight blush on his face.

"Yes, I did. Every single thing. Everything from your real identity to you confession of love."

"Con-Conf-Confession? Me? Umm that is not even-"

"I can't bring the love of my life into this mess and risk losing you as well, I wonder who said this" Mukti said giggling.

"Oh please" Abhi grumbled with a blush. Mukti just leaned in quickly and kissed him on his lips leaving him shocked.

"W-what?" Abhi asked in shock.

"What, what?" Mukti giggled once again and just kissed him hard. Abhi broke the kiss she initiated and looked at her, searching for any negative emotion.

"I'm sorry" Mukti said, looking down at her hands on her lap, embarrassed and almost in tears.

"Why are you sorry?"

"It's okay I understand that you don't feel-" Mukti started murmuring about her forced kiss on him when Abhi just smiled at her and took her hands in his.

"I don't think you should be sorry or embarrassed" Abhi said smiling at her.

"I-I don't get you.." Mukti looked at him unsure on how to respond to him. Abhi just gave her a cheeky smile and quickly pulled her on his lap. With a loud shriek, she landed on his lap and he wrapped his hands around her waist.

Warmth blossomed in Mukrti's chest, sparks igniting as Abhi leaned in close, lips brushing together, tentatively, for the third time in a row. The smell of his perfume, of the strong, lily scent, was dizzying, butterflies dancing in her stomach. But warmth consumed her as he deepened into the kiss, causing her to gasp. While he quickly took this opportunity and slid his tongue in. His hands snaking up to her neck and waist, pulling her impossibly close to himself. She let out a light moan.

Just as she was about to take her hands up his hair, they heard a loud yell and then some cursing. Abhi and Mukti quickly broke out of the trance and looked at each other in shock with hazy eyes before turning towards the wall from where the sound came.

The Other room, An Hour Ago

"So, what do you want to speak about?" "What do you want to talk about?" Arya and Manik both asked each other the question as they entered the room and stared at each other with annoyance.

"Look I'm not interested in being here so let's just get it done fast." Arya grumbled in annoyance.

"Neither am I" Manik replied in a huff.

"Then why did you pick the room?" Arya asked looking annoyed now.

"I could ask the same, okay?" Manik tutted.

"I'm here because of my wife. Don't get your hopes high" Arya sneered back at him.

With that both the men huffed and stood opposite to each other far away. After 5mins of no one talking, Manik finally kept his ego and anger aside and decided to talk it out with Arya. "What is your problem?"

"What is my problem? What the heck is yours?"

"Look, Let's be honest. You for some very reason have always disliked me and I want to know why?"

"Because you are a Malhotra"

"Really Arya?"

"And you are dumb"

"Huh? Where did that come from?"

"In the beginning I only hated your parents but now I hate you too. Also I didn't like the fact that you were getting close to Nandani"

"Why? Were you jealous? You already have Diana"

"Nandani is my bloody sister! You fucking moron" Arya yelled at him

"I fucking know!" Manik yelled back

"I don't like her being sad. And you made her not just sad but extremely upset as well"

"I have my reasons. I never meant to make her sad or upset"

"And what great reason you have huh?"

"I already have someone in my heart since a very long time. And I agree I was a bit attracted to Nandani but when she suddenly proposed I was shocked and said things that I shouldn't have. I'm sorry"

"OH! SO, YOUR ALREADY HAVE A GIRL IN YOUR HEART BUT DECIDE TO MESS AROUND WITH MY BABY SISTER?" Arya screamed at Manik.

"I fucking did not! I never messed around with any girl! Yes, I am attracted but I can never betray my star!"
