"Sarah why did you not follow my instructions?" Harley asks in a tone.

Even in university, we're still together. That's just natural since we are best of friends. And still, I had to keep up with her competency.

"I wanted to try out my code for the app we're working on. I thought it was going well so far. I tried it-" I was about to explain.

But she interrupted, "No, Sarah. You're using bad variable names. Besides, this is too complicated. Trust me."

Harley had always been right when it comes to these kinds of things. I know so since this has happened countless times in our previous years too. I didn't want to be given that look of 'I told you so' by Harley again.

So I just agreed and said, "Okay. Sorry. I'll fix it."

"Oh and by the way Sarah. I can't make it to our presentation day. I have an important family matter to attend to. I'll be absent so I'll leave it to you." Harley says.

And yet again, she's the commander but always missing in action for some unexplainable reason.

I'm used to it by this time. But somehow, I still feel the urge to question her at times so I did.

"But you were always late and absent. Aren't you scared your grades might drop?" I tried to alarm her.

"Yeah. But I can't help it. I really have other matters to attend to." Harley responds nonchalantly.

Because yes. Somehow, despite all that, she can still magically rise her grades to the top spot. If I were her, I'd be nonchalant too. I wouldn't care less.

But this is truthfully... annoying.
How is it that Harley gets away all the time.
Isn't this unfair?

"Also, thanks to you, Sarah. For always understanding my situation. And covering for me." Harley comments and pats on my shoulders.

Despite this repetitive situation with Harley, we were both able to graduate on time and she was, of course, given honors.

"Sarah I have this idea. Do you have spare savings lying in your bank?" Harley suddenly says one time that she asked to meet. We both had worked on different companies but we still keep in touch from time to time. Just like how bestfriends are.

My savings. I've only been working for quite some time now but yes, I do have a little. It's my hard earned money so I cautiously asked "Why? What idea?"

"Let's be partners and put up a tea shop. We've always wanted to, right? It's about time we invest our money on something else. Ofcourse, I immediately thought of you!" Harley says.

A tea shop.
We did talk about that.
When we were young.
How we'll decorate it.
What food to serve and more.

But to be partners with Harley...
I'm a little skeptic.
However, she's good at anything.
So maybe...

"Think about it. This could be our exit plan from our 8-hour corporate shifts. It'll be fun too! Since we'll be working together." Harley excitedly grabbed my hand to narrate.

We talked more about it and somehow, she was able to make me think that this tea shop would be profitable for me financially. So I agreed.

However, things turned out for the worst. My hard earned money went stale and to top it off, Harley is as usual, surprisingly preoccupied with her personal matters.

"Why aren't you here Harley? You know we need to make ends meet with deliveries somehow. You're absent again?" I am still trying to hold my frustrations in with the calmest tone I can ever emit.
