After the storm

Chapter 53

Lucifer and Amenadiel were driving through the city towards Lux. When the Devil heard that his bachelor party was being held in his own club, he chuckled.

"That's so typical of Maze. I should have expected that." He said and turned his head to look through the window. "I can't believe I let you talk me into this." He whispered to himself but Amenadiel heard him.

"And I can't believe you really aren't excited about it. You used to like parties, Luci, no one enjoyed parties better than you did." Amenadiel stated, taking his eyes off the road for a moment and glancing at his brother.

Lucifer looked at him. "I still like them but now there's my relationship at stake. You know what Maze's taste is and I don't want to risk losing Chloe for a short time of pleasure. It's definitely not worth it." He said and he obviously meant it.

"Wow. Brother, love really changed you. I'm so proud of you." Amenadiel gave him a broad smile. "After thousands of years my brother finally matured." He added, shaking his head with disbelief.

Suddenly, Lucifer poked him in the arm.

"Hey!" Amenadiel shouted. "So much for being mature." He murmured.

"I've became mature much earlier, if you want to know, but I'm a father now, I've got a family of my own and I'll do everything I can not to lose it." Lucifer told him.

"I won't let you lose it." Amenadiel replied and for a second their eyes met and they both smiled.

"Thanks, brother." Lucifer said and then added, "I still can't believe though you didn't ask Maze about this party."

"I tried to make her tell me anything but she's so stubborn. She said we would get to see it in our own time."

As soon as Amenadiel had said that, Lucifer's phone beeped meaning he got a text. The Devil took it out and checked the message. Amenadiel kept glancing at his brother while he was reading it.

"What is it, Luci?" He asked.

"I guess, my dear brother, our wish came true. We're going to find out what Maze has prepared for us." Lucifer replied.

"So what is it?" Amenadiel asked while pulling off and parking the car outside of Lux.

"She says we should go to the penthouse because she left all the details there."

Immediately, they got out of the car, went inside and took the elevator. The ride took a few seconds but to Lucifer it seemed much longer. When the door opened with a quiet ding, the brothers stepped out of it. They looked around, expecting hoards of half-naked people to show up out of nowhere but there was no one there. They decided to split up – Amenadiel went to check the bathroom and Lucifer walked cautiously to his bedroom. He was stunned at what he found there."Maze, you little demon..." He whispered with awe.

A moment later Amenadiel came back with nothing. "There's nothing in there." He said, walking the steps to join his brother. "Have you got anything?

"Oh yes and I'm sure you won't guess what our Maze prepared for us." Lucifer replied with a big smile.

"Looking at your face, I bet I won't like it." Amenadiel stated and noticed that his brother was standing in front of his enormous closet, holding a piece of paper. "Is this the instruction for us?" He said and pointed to the thing in Lucifer's hand.

"Yeah. This is what it says: 'Lucifer, your bachelor party is my wedding gift for you. Thanks for being my friend for so long. To make it more interesting, I decided to make it a 1920s theme party. Don't worry, there won't be anything indecent, well... almost anything. You'll find the outfits in your closet. I hope you and Amenadiel will like them. Now, hop into them, have fun and enjoy the evening. Your Maze'"
