I wake up alone in the bed. Wala na si Limer kaya panigurado maagang nagising ang isang 'yon at sana'y maayos na ang pakiramdam niya. I tiredly get up from the bed and wrapped myself with a robe.
Lumabas ako ng kwarto just to find Cholo and Limer playing chess on the side deck. Hindi naman nila ako pinansin kaya pinanood ko na lamang sila. I know I'm still not used to the feeling of waking up in the middle of the sea, but I'll know in the coming days ay masasanay rin ang pakiramdam ko. Good thing, sea sickness went away so fast dahil kung hindi, kalokohan na talaga 'tong pag-oo ko kay Cholo.
And both seem like really having fun. Parang hindi umiyak iyong isa kagabi, e. I tried not to intrude on their moment, but they saw me and invited me to join them.
"So, anong pinagkakaabalahan natin today?" tanong ko sa kanila.
"Kinakantyawan ko si Limer na pagbalik natin ng Pinas saka siya magpapatuli," sabi nito na natatawa pa. Iniiwas naman ni Limer ang tingin niya sa akin. Ginulo naman ng tatay niya ang buhok nito. "Hindi naman. Biro lang talaga."
"But I agree," aniko.
"But we also let Limer decide it whenever he wants, its his body," dagdag pa ni Cholo. Muli naman akong sumang-ayon sa kanya.
"Hindi, pa," sabi ni Limer. "Sige, pagbalik natin sa Pinas. Magpapatuli na ako!" buong tapang nitong tugon.
Napahagikgik naman ako sa sinabi nito. "Binata na talaga 'tong anak mo, Cholo," komento ko. "Parang noon lang no'ng una ko siyang nakita, ang liit-liit pa at hindi pa gano'n kalinaw magsalita... but I guess it's the perks of seeing him growing up. Actually, nakamimiss talaga iyong mga panahon na 'yon."
"Yeah, it does..." halos mahinang tugon ni Cholo. "Time really went by so fast..."
I noticed how his mood changed once again that's why I wanted to take the opportunity to talk to him personally. I let Limer excuse himself from us so his father and I could talk. Iniwan niya rin aman kaming dalawa and we're both left on the front deck.
"You would always remember what happened in the past, 'no?" Ngisi pa nito.
"Naman!" aniko. "It's something that I wouldn't be able to forget. A lot of things happened back then at hindi iyon isang bagay na tatalikuran na lang bigla. You opened my eyes back then... and also my heart."
"Ha? Ano 'yon?" aniya.
Umiling ako. "Ha? Wala. And you know what... I kinda saw you last night..."
He chuckled, shaking his head. "It was rough..." He plastered his face with a smile on his face. "You shouldn't have seen me last night. It wasn't my best moment I must say."
I put my hand on his shoulder. "I think it was your best moment..."
His forehead creased when I utter those words. He looked so confused and it was cute.
