The Final Battle
Valance scowled, her plan was failing. She flew her hands up in the air in frustration. She quickly took out her staff, and wove it around for a mere second, and she was transported to the white washed halls of the Realm of her daughters.
And of course, she couldn't get in because it was heavily secured. Magically and physically. She had to think through the security. As she was a dark sylph after all.
I didn't sell my soul to be tricked. Valance thought to herself. I will avenge you Faith, Will. Even to my last ragged breath.
"How much longer? You're Majesty?" Raleigh asked out of anticipation. The tension was stressing her. Every single being in this room was running on fumes, tensed, robotic movements.
"It will take a while, Raleigh." Will sighed beside her, placing her hand to comfort her. "Vasilissa will be fine."
"I can imagine what will happen if she doesn't pull through." Raleigh squeezed her eyelids shut. Her brain feeding images of a future catastrophe that failure may be severe. "Harold's going to be alright?"
"He's... making his way through." Faith joined in the conversation, squeezing Raleigh in the middle of the seat their all sitting at.
"Where is he anyway?" Raleigh asked "I thought he wanted to be with Vasilissa?"
"He does. But not in her condition. The Grand Abbot needs to focus into finding her Greatest Wish. In my greatest hunch, she has a few more days."
"But Vasilissa doesn't have enough days!" Raleigh suddenly snapped, outraged, she snapped out of her seat and ragged outside.
"Raleigh?! What is wrong with you?" Will questioned almost immediately. Snapping out of her tranquil state and standing up.
"Don't you see?! Harold will be devastated!" Raleigh yelled back. "I can't bear him to lose anyone else again!"
"You still love him, don't you?" Will retorted. "He loves Vasilissa now! Get over it. You're dead and they are very much alive! You are two beings who weren't supposed to be together in the beginning!"
"For how much longer?! One day Vasilissa's going to die and he's going to sulk about it!" Raleigh snapped once more, couldn't they see it? He will die of desperation all around Vasilissa.
I will prevent that. Raleigh muttered to herself. I will not fail you again Harold. Never.
"Do not say that Raleigh!" Faith looked up to the fighting women. Her tranquil state was still there. But pretty much running on fumes.
"Why? Are you fed up with the lies too, Faith?" Raleigh chuckled nervously. "I know in your heart you know she will die."
"Lies?" Faith muttered in disbelief. "You of all people, Raleigh! You know truth when you see or hear it!"
"Yes." A dark voice muttered in place of Raleigh's. "I do."
Raleigh's body suddenly collapsed to the floor, a dark shadow appeared in the mist. Revealing Valance's beautiful, but ragged figure.
"Finally! That body was being stiff and defiant." Valance flung her hands in pretend distress. "Raleigh may be hell of a defiant, my spells are still the strongest in the realm!"
"Mother?! How dare you break in a realm of peace?!" Will exclaimed, pointing her accusing finger to her crooked mother's figure.
"Too late, Will!" Valance chuckled. She turned her figure around and disappeared as fast as she appeared.
