☆★ "I'm sorry. I'm having trouble understanding any of this" Jonathan argued. You couldn't help but disassociate yourself from the situation.

Mike has looked in the kitchen over 15 times but you hadn't moved an inch nor did the expression on your face change. Nobody had ever seen you act like this before and it worried him. Everyone was worried for you.

"Where is Jane? Like right now?" Mike asks. The question proves pointless as the woman evades yet another question "For her safety, it's best you don't know" she said. Head falling, you finally let a small huff out, hands blue and skin cold to the touch. You couldn't do this alone. Whatever was doing the killings in Hawkins was beyond you.

At least you think so. Jane was always there as your partner in crime but, now she's somewhere with some people that you've probably never met. "My family lives in Hawkins!" Mike yells, adding to Will's worry about your friends. You stand just as the woman does, grilling Mike

"-Why don't you let me go? Whatever they're doing... why does it matter?" —you scoff, pinching the bridge of your nose "She doesn't have her powers, just let me do whatever they need" But Mike protests, moving in front of you in defense.

"No! You're not going either"
"Why. Not?"

The woman cuts through, professional and calm "We can't risk contact. If they learned about any of this... and them" — she points at you "It will jeopardize Eleven and if eleven is jeopardized, so are your friends and family"

It was a hard pill to swallow

But of course, you knew better. That lady was telling the truth and there wasn't anything that you could change about it. It made you feel like a total anomaly. What's your reason if you're not out there helping the ones that you love? Your friends in Hawkins... they're in danger.

"Eleven trusted us. Now we're asking the same from you" you lean off of the couch, winded and heartbroken. Trusting them was your best bet but, you had to think of something or anything that could tell you where your sister could possibly be. You excuse yourself, treading off to your room.

Jonathan gives you a look of empathy as the woman pulls a note from her pocket, handing it to Mike "For them..." he takes it and runs after you.

Just as you were digging into your dresser, Mike stops in the doorway, a small frown on his face derived from any sort of emotion that wasn't negative. Your shoulders slouch as you audibly sigh.

"Mike" he hums, coming to stand next to you. As much as you love having your boyfriend around, now just wasn't the time. You had to think and figure out some things for yourself. They didn't need to be involved if you had actually decided to act on your impulse, no matter how upset it may cause Mike to be.

"I know you're feeling... very bad and probably very angry but..." — he leans down to get a get look at your face. Slowly but surely, you gift him the eye contact that he'd yearned for. Your pupils slightly dilate as mike palms your cheek, pulling you in for a soft kiss. "You can talk to me" you nod, putting your hands on his "I know... Mike"

The unsure tone in his voice makes him frown. "But... I just need some time... okay?" he nearly looks insulted as he breaks away from you, moving back a single foot but feeling so far away. You can feel his heart slow down, clearly discouraged and hurt by your denial. "But- but it's not you, okay?" you nervously laugh, the joy absent in your eyes.
