Taylor Swift / Kaylor - Begin Again

Chapter Seventeen

Taylor's POV

I walked through the front door after my meeting and immediately smelt fresh cookies from the kitchen.

"I'm home!" I called out as I walked into the kitchen to find Karlie and Ellie eating some cookies and drinking milk.

"You baked cookies without me?" I said with a fake gasp.

"Sorry Swift. I have a new baking partner." Karlie said back while Ellie giggled and smirked.

"How rude." I replied, walking over to the fridge and getting myself a glass of milk to go with the cookies. I took a bite into the cookie and felt like I was in heaven.

"Mmm these are gorgeous." I groaned.

"Aren't they always?" Karlie laughed.

"Your head is getting too big Kloss." I smirked.

We carried on back and forth and laughing at each other, but Ellie seemed really quiet. She was just sat watching us. She didn't look as if she was sad, more like she was concentrating on us for some reason.

"You alright?" I asked Ellie.

"Yeah. I'm good." She said, snapping out of her daze and smiling at me.

"Let's go watch some more movies!" Karlie suggests. We pick up the cookies and milk and walked into the living room.

I put the tv on, loaded Netflix and flicked through films until we saw one we wanted to watch.

"Ellie are you sure you're okay, you seem a little distant?" I asked her, wondering why she had been so silent.

"Hmm, yeah I'm just thinking about something. Nothing bad don't worry" She smiled back to me and Karlie but Karlie went a little bit red.

"Okay. Right let's get this movie started."

We had decided to watch Legally Blonde, 1) because it's a great movie and 2) Ellie had never seen it before.

About half way through I put my head on Karlie's shoulder like we usually would, but she flinched, then relexed again. Ellie had her head rested on me too, out of the corner of my eye I saw her smile upwards to me and Karlie... Why does she keep smiling at us? I just shook it off and carried on watching the film.

I felt my eyelids getting heavier and heavier until they began to close. Then I heard Karlie laughing above me. The laugh that warms you up inside. Her smile lit up the room as she carried on laughing. Pure sunshine I thought to myself. I couldn't help but smile at her infectious laugh. I subconsciously put one arm around her abdomen and relaxed my body into her. She flinched again. I don't know why. But then I felt her arm wrap around me. Her once tense body eased into a relaxed state.

Ellie's POV

I was really enjoying this movie. I can't believe I'd never seen it before, it seems like a classic. I was trying my best to stay awake because I wanted to see how it ended. Every so often I'd look up a bit to Taylor and Karlie, this time I looked up, and they had their arms wrapped around each other. Taylor's eyes were half open and Karlie was fully engrossed in the movie with a soft smile on her face. Maybe my plan was working I thought. I hope so. The credits began to roll and all three of us simultaneously sat up and stretched.

"That was such a good film, I can't believe I've never seen it before!" I said.

"It's a classic!" Karlie said back. "Anyway. I should get going, I have a shoot in the morning, such an early start." She said again. Her and Taylor got off the couch and walked to the door and out of my view. I sneakily followed behind and his behind something so I could just about see and hear them.

"How was Ellie earlier by the way?" Taylor asked.

"She was great, no problems at all, just asked a lot of questions."

"Oh, what kind?"

"Just about how I got into modelling, where I'm from...us."

"Us?"

"Yeah... I think she thinks there's something going on.."

"Oh right..." Taylor giggled.

"Anyway, I should go, see you soon Tay, love you." Karlie said and they hugged while Taylor said it back.

I quickly ran back to the couch to act like I'd never witnessed any of it. But I still wasn't done with my plan.

I will get these two together.

Taylor came walking back in smiling to herself and her cheeks red.

"Is Karlie behind that smile?" I asked with a slight smirk on my face.

"Uh, er, what?"

"Come on, you can tell me."

"Tell you what?"

"How you feel about Karlie."

"How do you know I like her?"

"Well I didn't properly until you just said it, but now the cats out the bag...how do you feel about her?"

She came and sat down on the couch next to me.

"I... I don't know, all I know is that I really do like her... In more than a friendship way. But I doubt she feels the same."

"How do you know that?"

"Because she's Karlie Kloss, she could have anyone she wants."

"So? You're Taylor Swift, people are pretty much queuing up wishing they could date you, including Karlie."

"Nothing could ever happen between us." Taylor sighed.

"Why though?"

"Well could you imagine what everyone would think and say if I suddenly start dating a girl?"

"A fabulous woman once said 'I think loving someone despite what people think, is fearless.' So go ahead Tay... Be fearless. You've been teaching me that for years, I think it's time you listen to your own words of advice. You never know what the outcome could be. If I were you... I wouldn't wanna spend the rest of my life wondering what could've happened if I just tried. Go for it. Don't hold back, in the end, we only regret the chances we didn't take."

"Hmm.. I guess you're right Ellie. Thank you." And she hugged me tight and didn't let go.

"You're welcome."
