Ellie's POV

I sat outside Linda's office as Taylor went in there. I had no idea what was gonna happen. I didn't know if she was gonna shout at her, or say she didn't want to see me anymore because I'm such a problem child and I'll just be so much unneeded hassle. I tried my best to eavesdrop in. I know I shouldn't but I just couldn't help it.

"I'd like to adopt Ellie please." I heard Taylor's muffled voice say. Wait, was I hearing right?! That's like most Swiftie's dream right?

"Ellie? Are you sure? After all, you've only had one visit with her, and I'm sure you haven't really seen the real Ellie due to this visit."

"Yes. I'm sure." I could tell Taylor was clenching her teeth. "All that girl needs is love, and I know I can show her it. So, how long will it take?"

"Well, obviously we can't decide for you so Ellie it is. We'll obviously need to go through paperwork and home visits to see if you and your home are suitable for the adoption. We'll get the ball rolling now and sort some paperwork out now. It should take up to 2-3 weeks for the process to be done and dusted and she'll be all yours."

"Great, thanks." I could only assume by the silence that Taylor was filling some forms out.

2-3 weeks out of the this hell hole, and I'll have a fresh new start, with my own idol! Surely I was dreaming. Someone was gonna wake me up soon, when does anything good ever happen to me? Taylor actually wanted me. Me! I felt elated. A massive smile broke out onto my face, and I managed to ignore the blinding pain that came without it, because right now I was on cloud nine and I doubt anything could bring me down. Nothing could really describe this feeling. My life was taking a turn around for the better.

Taylor came out of the office but I didn't really acknowledge her presence due to my daydreaming until she made me aware of her being there.

"I take it you heard me in there?" She had this cute smirk on her face.

"I-I... yeah. I can't believe it. You're adopting me?!" I beamed.

"I certainly am. Well, in about 2-3 weeks I will. You've just gotta hold on for a little while longer and you can get out of here."

"But, I've barely told you anything about me."

"I don't expect you to tell me everything about you on the first day you've ever met me. Don't worry, we have forever for that."

"I just, I can't believe this. Thank you so much Taylor!"

I ran into Taylor's arms crying, with happy tears of course. I hugged her so tight, like I would never let go.

"I have to go now sweetie, but I'll come see you again before the adoption obviously. They're gonna come inspect my home so I should sort everything out and do a basic room for you, which you can then decorate how you want after."

"Really?! Oh my god. I just can't believe all this is happening. Thank you so much." I cried again. Despite everything from earlier this day, I'm just so happy.

"I'll see you soon babe!" Taylor said "Good bye."

"Bye Taylor." I smiled and waved as she left the door.

Perhaps it was a bit too early to be packing, but that's all I wanted to do right now.

Taylor's POV

I felt so excited. As if I had done a good deed. I could tell Ellie had clearly had a bad childhood, and I want to be the one to give her the love and care she deserves. The whole drive home, I had a huge smile spread across my face. It may seem abit crazy that I don't know loads a bout her, but as I said to Ellie, we have plenty of time for all of that.

As soon as I got home I got straight onto the phone to my mom.

"Hey mom!"

"Hi Taylor. How did it go?"

"It went so well. I've picked a girl already."

"Already? That was quick. Tell me about her."

"Well, when I got to the home, I could hear someone playing the guitar and singing one of my songs. I followed the lady in charge to the room to where it was coming from. Then I saw this teenage girl with gorgeous long brown hair, she was the one singing and playing the guitar. But she had this like sad look in her eyes, when she looked up and saw me, it was as if she was hallucinating. But something captivated me, I find her so intriguing. Once she finished she realized I was actually there but she started crying and yeah. I went to her room and she just hugged me so tight like she had been waiting her entire life for a hug. But I noticed she had a black eye, I didn't question her at first. After that I took her for some ice cream, it was her first time ever but she really enjoyed it. We got to know each other a bit. She's so polite and lovely. She opened up about what happened to her eye. She gets bullied by girls at school and girls at the home, but the lady in charge never done anything about it. We went back to the home, I went straight to the office and started of some paperwork to adopt her. In about 2-3 weeks she will officially be mine. I can't wait mom. She's incredible. She's so strong this girl is."

"Wow, it seems she's made quite the impression on you."

"She really had mom. I can't wait to give her all the good things in life she deserves that she's been deprived off!"

"I can't wait to meet her Tay. I'll let dad know yeah. I have to go now, I've got the dinner on."

"Okay mom, speak later. Love you loads."

"Love you too hunny."

I hung up the phone and sat down on the sofa, just beaming with happiness. I knew I was doing something right. I was giving someone love, someone who hasn't had the feeling in a long time, and I'm privileged to be the one helping her.
